I would suggest you use 92-93 LS (YS1) rebuild kit to be safe.
YS1 is the only big spline cable transmission, All B series transmissions from 92 onwards changed to hydro they also kept the bigger spline from the YS1.
So YS1 parts such as gear sets are all interchangeable with the Hyrdro transmissions such as S4C,S80,Y80,Y21,S21.
Anything from the small spline cable transmissions such as S1,A1,J1,Y1 can not be used in YS1 or any big spline transmissions.
I don’t think you will see any difference by using a rebuild kit from say the S80, they are all made the same.
If you want an improvement pay the extra 50 for the carbon synchros but be careful what oil you use with them.
If you want to make double sure email the guys at sychrotech they are very helpful.
I have read that using oils like Motul FF LSD type 1 have additives to help the plate LSD bite up, it can give the carbon synchros to much grip. Motul do make great oils, just make sure the one you get it suited to your set up. If your gonna go LSD and run additives get brass synchros instead.
As longs as it doesn’t have LSD additives it should be fine. I always use Honda MTF. Been tempted to use others though and have been warned not to use Redline.
My theory on Redline is its so thin it wont protect anything from wear so the sychros grip real nice because of this and crunching goes away but then months later things have worn so much the crunching comes back.
Before Honda made their own MTF they would recommend 10w30 motor oil, the down side to this is because motor oils have friction inhibitors sychros have a harder time getting grip.
