had problems w/ va;ves at first butgot that one sqaed away sweet… no more tick whatsoever. now a new problem… yay… got the valves adjusted. cruised it around to make sure it was cool and it was. so a few hours later i go to the grocery store and get on it a couple times then on my way home i turn onto my street tap the gas and i bogs down to the point of nearly dying. wtf? so i tap the gas again and it does it, after the 3rd time it snaps outta it but if i rev it it sounds like i tapped the pedal twice real quik and it has a slight backfire. kinda feels like what i imagine a misfire is but i have never had a car misfire one me so idk . did i throw my timing while moving the crank pulley to adjust or wtf? im stumped and at this point i dont really care. lol
did you do the valve adjustment yourself? if so have you ever done one before? based on what you said i’d say your timing belt is off teeth.
Adjusting valves does a couple things to the engine. One being that the vacuum just went up. So, you’re sucking snot out of gooped up hoses and the throttle body is at proper load, which means you’re probably in need of cleaning it and while there, check the tps for even and gradual increasing resistance measurement thru-out closed to wide open range. Any hiccups in that reading and you might as well get a replacement.:salute:
ok. so its running RICH. if i tap the gas it either does nothing for a second then revs up or it just dies. smells like gas but yet idles better then ever. all valves are in spec. there is no vac leak and i still cant get it to throw a code. am i jumping the tight prongs for the code check?
ok. code 43 fuel supply. any hints? im almost positive its the fpr. i pulle th hose off the vac line and left it on the fpr and sucked and i could get no air or anything past the fpr. sounds like my problem just need reassurance before i can even try to justify spending 109 dollars on one.
bump… anyone? wanna get this bitch runnin again.
Running rich search.

One of those threads will have more info for you on your FPR. I remember seeing a good one before.
Ya know, if I had the bucks, I’d buy you a manual for your birthday. Maybe someone could post a pic of the fuel system troubleshooting pages out of the manual for PO’d in BoIdAhO.:stare: www.books4cars.com
well u got until the day after x-mas. start savin lol… so i got it running and running better than ever. but its STILL throwing a code 43. fuel pumps working grounds are good new fuel filter and fpr. no pinched lines. injectors couldnt be better…WTF. im so confused. lol
edit i also reset the ecu*`
Charcoal cannister, fuel vent system, Catalytic converter. Again, you’d need the FSM sections. The cat you can drive over to any Midas, they’ll measure the in and out side of a warmed up cat and tell you whether it’s working. Maybe the cats not working and allowing the unburned fuel to flow thru and throwing a code. Also, check all your 02 sensors and wiring again. C’mon, lets beat this thing.
02 is minty fresh. the exhaust isnt but 3 weeks old (full catback) charcoal is good. idk wtf… i wanna throw a temper tantrum. lol. i mean itsnothing huge as the car runs better than it EVER has but its just frustrating when ur tryin to sell it and they like " oh its sooo smooth… no typical DA rattles im lovein i…CEL WTF? sorry man but im not gonna by a car thats got demon codes" FUCKCKKKKKKK lol
