Well I had been losing power steering fluid but the pump looked fine. I was under the car today about to change the oil when I saw something leaking from a boot. I quickly moved back there and looked closer and I think it’s power steering fluid leaking from part of the steering system on both sides.
There is a little hose going into a boot on both sides of the steering system under the car. Both are wet and leaky looking.
Also My oil pan was pretty oily. I lose about a quart a month and never drip any oil where I park the car but I think what is happening is that the oil is leaking while i’m driving only. There are drops formed on a lot of the bolt to the oil pan and the oil pan in genereal is wet looking. I also see where oil must be squirting out and hitting the exhaust system right as it curves to go over the oil pan. There are black streeks coming down it. It seems to be leaking the most on the drivers side, I hope it isn’t a seal or bearing for the crank that is leaking.
I also see farther down under the car places where flying oil has hit things and dirty goo has biult up on the under side of the car.
It is weird how it’s happening. I’m just glad with the three fluids i’m losing non of them have anything to do with major equipment going bad. The third is my brake fluid that seems to leak when it feels like it.
