Well one day I was on a trip and I pushed the car up to redline pretty hard with 4 people in it and the next day I noticed a bumpy idle and bad responce at low RPM’s. I replaced the O2 sensor, plugs/wires, cap/rotor, fuel filter. Same problem. So after a while, I took it to a mechanic and we checked compression. #1 and #2 had no compression, they leaked air into each other. Also I get about 15 mpg and loose coolant. Should I go ahead and assume head gasket? TIA
Check your oil. If it looks something like chocolate milk, your head gasket is definitely toast. But it sure sounds like that’s the culprit.
…don’t redline ls’s unless you don’t mind spending lots of money.
does it smoke? mine smoked BAD when the HG went.
There’s nothing wrong with redlining an ls, that’s what your revlimiter is there for. But don’t stay in the red for extended periods of time. That’s when things may go wrong.
