Why would it start to do that just as i put on a new air intake? i did nothing to those things. Besides if that was the case then would it not happen ALL the time and even after i reset the ECU.
I mean i’ll check those, thanks for your advice. I’m just a idiot when it comes to most car stuff, i probly sound more like a idiot for not being able to setup his own air intake.
Maybe you should see the “Warning Signs/Teg Tips” page about “90-91 Hesitation problem”. It might be the oxygen sensor (in the exhaust manifold, aka header). I wonder if there’s a relation between aftermarket intakes and O2 sensors. Seems to me I had to replace mine around the time I got an intake, maybe it messes it up. Who knows, probably not. I don’t really see how, but it’s just a thought. Anyway, see the page above and see if it describes your problem (hesitates ONLY after being warmed up, until about 4k rpms). Hope this helps.
Well it might very well be that! Who knows…but after 4k it even seems like the tranny jumped around cuz it would suck in air then it wouldn’t…rpm’s were all over the place!
Don’t know if this makes a difference but i got a 92 teggy!
I know you installed an air intake and all but to me it sound like a bad fuel pump or pressure. while the car is running correctly, take off your gas cap and listen to the gas tank. Put it back on, do what ever you do to get the malfunction, stop the car and check the gas tank again. If there is a difference in the sound of the fuel pump, you know its bad. I don’t mean a slight difference, the noise should be noticable.

Okay well again…why would it just start of being a problem when i did my air intake? I’ll mention all of these to my friend who i will have look at it. Keep the suggestions coming guys!
Yep…it like bounces sometimes when idlingbut it does that only after i drive it. Seems to have a hard time taking off! PLus even at 4-6k RPM it jumps around as well!
mine did the same thing, even when i put everything back on, it did the same thing.let your car sit and run for about 15 minutes,
after you let it sit ,run the piss out of it. it dosen’t matter how big or small,if anything gets past the throttlebody it will run like ****.
Hey guys now when i rev up the engine it spews out tons of smoke and smells like something is burning!! Its not a dark smoke…but like a whitish/grey smoke!!
if the smoke comes out even when you r not driving but just sitting there then youve blown your head gasket. srry man if thats the case cause thats m. ddening
I just put a new clutch in and my distibutor took a ****. Man if its not one thing its another. Your not alone man.
But that white smoke thing doesnt sound so good. Pray its not your head gasket.
When you removed your stock airbox, you disconnected the vacum hoses. One of these hoses is connected to a coolant line by a metal bracket/pipe. When i installed my intake i just pushed the bracket down out of the way and pulled off the vacum line from the bracket, running it to the intake. When i pushed it down the coolant line split at the connection and was slowly leaking. I didnt relize it right away and ran pretty low on coolant. Hardly any coolant made it to the ground either since it was buring up on the back of the hot engine and cat. This could have also happened to you, which might explain your idle/rev problem. You could have also now ran out of coolant, blowing your head gasket. Is your oil milky looking or your coolant any other color than green?
Well if my coolant was leaking or i was out…the engine would over heat. it has not. The oil and the collant look just like they are supposed to. Thanks for the advice though…i’ll keep an eye out for that!
