I thought this would never happen......

I am…

sweet ride man. fact of the matter is, no matter how sure you are of getting rid of it, you will regret it later. especially when you see pics of it or if people bring up if you still have that car. im kinda in the same situation, my DA was my first car (although i havent owned it since brand new) but its been in storage in my garage for a couple of years now. i really dont know if i wanna put money into it or part it out. we have no track here in hawaii anymore so keeping it would just mean id be putting insurance on another vehicle just to make it a daily driver

Serial?

I know I’m going to regret it…I always said that if I was going to sell it, I’d have to sell it out of state so I would never have to see it again. I know I’m probably going to see the car everywhere since I know it will stay local.

Your track closed down? That really sucks. But where you are, there is alot of nice roads just to go out for a joyride. I was out there in November and it made me wish I had my car with me just to drive around the island. But I did hear theft is pretty bad out there.

;)

Joe… you can always get it back… seller’s remorse will kick in… then again your new project will help ease the pain…lol

im on oahu. our track has been shut down for a few years now. theres many different stories, and even speculation of them trying to build a new track, but i havent heard anything recently.

it is nice to cruise around the island, but fact of the matter is you can only do it so many times before it gets repetetive and boring. sure it was nice for you since you dont live here, but when you wanna have a car cruise (or even bike cruise) the only option you have is to go around the island hahah.

theft here is bad as you mentioned. some dirty theives even resort to towing your car away. ive even heard of a reputable company doing dirty things, so i know how it feels.

good luck with whatever you choose. as much as id like to say keep it, im sure one way or another youre going to get rid of it. especially if youve already done everything it is that you wanted to do.

That guy is a smart yes stupid man, or a rich man for crushing his cars, lol. I wish I had the money and the balls to do that, But if I had the money, I’d just buy a warehouse and store all my toys in there.

I was in Oahu and I could see how boring and repetitive things can be living on an island that takes like 2 hours to drive around the whole place. Since it was new to me though, I really enjoyed being there. I’m probably going back around November for giggles…that and I miss Macky’s and Ted haupia pie, lol.

as crazy as it sounds, i have sent every single one of my cars to the crusher after i was done with them. not for the same reason as this guy though.
first car, an alfa romeo 164, caught fire on the interstate and all i had left was a burned out shell
second car, a peugeot 405, after 6 years of daily driving i bought a new car and turned it into a rally beater. got ass out into a tree and obliterated the rear of the car.
third car, a Jaguar X-type sport, after 4 unsuccessful attempts at theft, the 5th attempt actually resulted in theft of the car, a joyride and gross vandalizing. this was the saddest one to watch, simply because all of the aftermarket parts (almost $15k worth) had been vandalized/broken and were unsalvageable, still mounted on the car, so i pretty much watched a VIP style Jag on 19’s (which were all curbed and bent) get crushed.
these are the reasons i no longer get attached to cars. when you realize how disposable they can become, you stop giving them names.

i havent named the integra, i probably wont ever. every car i named has died.
i hope i have better luck with a rusty, noisy, beat-up old honda in these tough economic times. sorry to hi-jack, it was sorta relevant, sorta.

you gotta post up pics of your car more… i’m gonna dig through everything and see if i have old pics of yours.

Ouch, that’s painful !!! That’s kinda the biggest reason I’m getting rid of mine, I don’t want it to become a statistic for theft, at least not under my ownership.

The good thing about having a rusty beat-up old honda is that pretty much all the pieces you need to keep it running can be bought for pennies at a boneyard.

I do have a few pics that I haven’t posted just yet, maybe when I get motivated, lol

dude why dont u just invest in the best anti theft system and get a electrical shut off with a remote for every time u stop u can shut down the car completely and if ur worried about them stealing it with wrecker while ur gone get a couple of boots are chain the axles and lower control arms to a tree and get a gps system so if it gets stolen r move with out u turning it on with ur key r having the electrical system on it will text u r email u so u can contact the local police. just saying man. mine doesnt look half as good as urs and i would kill anyone that tried to mess with it and would do whatever it took to keep it

what did you do while you were here? wat are you planning to do on your return? maybe i can make some recommendations. im probably better with food places than scenery though hahaha

That’s the problem, I don’t want to have that paranoid feeling anymore. I hate losing sleep because I keep wondering if someone is trying to steal my car.

u want if u get the best theft system money can buy u want ever have to be worried about it. it will always come straight back r ever leave for that matter

a chain has never stopped anyone from stealing a bike, what makes you think itll stop someone from stealing a car?
car theft is not some random thought that degenerates just decide to do on a whimsical notion, there is a whole organized culture of these people. they dont just see your car and say “hey lets steal that right now”. they scope it out, see what you do when you exit the car and then come back prepared.
bolt cutters, extra fuses, spare steering wheels. you name it and a thief has a counter measure. my cousin is an investigator out in the chicago area and she says that car theft there is more organized and planned than most Chicago Bulls basketball games. and thats in chicago, i cant imagine the car theft rings in california.

paranoia is no joke. i wouldnt want to live in paranoia because of what car i drive.

and yea man, it has been real nice just going to the u-pull-it to get what parts i need. the jag rode around with a dented hood for its entire life because a USED hood sourced from jaguar was like 400 bucks, an entire front end’s body panels are about 400 bucks for the integra ahaha

My blackie with LD

Damn those are old pics, that’s before I threw on all the crap I had laying around in the basement forever. Even back then I wasn’t too motivated to work on anything. I think that year, I worked on your car more than mine !!!

I’ll post some other pics of my car in a little bit maybe, lol

I dont have any pics of my car from back then… :frowning:

Well you may be able to take more, and you know why…
