Iacv/fitv

my is idling at 2k rite now. i have no idea why. the iacv was recently cleaned out and im going to mess with the fitv in the morning. but from what im reading, the fitv only affects the idle when the car is warming up. what can i do to bring my idle down?

ive tried:
adjusting the throttle cable
cleaning iacv
turning the idle adjust screw
replacing all the vacuum lines
replacing and calibrating the tps
inspecting the throttle plate
checking the gas pedal

anything else i can do someone please let me know.

What changed to set you idle so high? Large vacuum leak?

lol. no idea what the problem is. i have a vacuum leak somewhere i think. i can hear a really loud hissing sound. but thats been there since i got the car. at one point for a while the car actually idled normal. like 800 normal. but then one day it just decided it didnt want to anymore.

but this morning i took out the fitv and cleaned all the pieces and tightened down the white piece all the way down. im still at 2k.

=[

i really would like my car not idle so high…

mine idles at 2k while warming up, what is this fitv and how do i fix it? never heard of it.

have you tried doing this?

  1. if your engine is cold take of the wire connector on your iacv then starts the engine. check if your idle is high or low.
  2. did you check the intake manifold bolts if its loose? or your throttle body is leaking?

try this thread i found. fitv fast idle thermo valve.

i havent tried that yet. as soon as i do, ill give feedback. thanks…

This is normal… Honda made it this way to get your engine to warm up to operating temp faster
