Hey guys I know this is old topic but its time to throw the towel in on the car. Ive tried everything stated above plus trying and testing everything right from the book. Ive let the car sit for six months since then and now on start up its decided to give me a new gift of white smoke. Either thinking the headgasket went or its just bad gas and tons of moisture that needs to be burnt off.
it shouldn’tbe idling at 6-500rpm. too low.
you performed an idle adjustment, as per procedure?
yup it now idles at the stock rpm but a slight surge. next thing is to try the valve lash
that earlier pic postedis your MAP sensor assembly.
Before you go and drop 400+ dollars on the MAP sensor (That was what O’Reillys wanted so I imagine Acura would be the same or worse). check ebay. I was having a bouncy idle issue and found a good replacement for 24 bucks shipped.
have you checked the pcv system?
I ended up eliminating the two sensors on the firewall and the idle greatly improved as for the pcv system ive checked it and just running it open right now. Learned my lesson not to let the car site for a long time think my new valve seals dried out getting smoke on the top end when i give it a good rev. Hopefully after a good few runs it may go away if not head comes off.
one other thing i noticed while checking sensor ect when I unplugged my tps the idle went perfect but after reseting the ecu and plugging it back in I got the rpm surge again.
have you checked tps voltage?
yup with in spec. it start to do it once it starts getting up to temp not when stone cold. no fitv so no idea what next
since the problem occurs warm, try disconnecting the o2 sensor. see if it persists
ya good call. is the idle supposed to drop when you unplug the iacv, while running?
What about with the iacv plugged in and running blocking both holes in the tb is the car supposed to die or close to it or idle raises?
iacv unplugged, idle will drop. to roughly 500rpm if the idle is set correctly.
with both holes plugged, you are starving the motor of air at it’s only source and it should stall. unless there is an outside air source, ie vac leak
Lets bring this back from the dead.
Still doing it
what ive checked/done/
bleed coolant
new 02
many iacvs
check for leaks
ignition timing
checked all sensors
