That’s fantastic! It sounds like just plastic parts perhaps? 3D printing of metal is super expensive, but it could be why they are starting with the lucky (and probably rich) people that have the NSX :stuck_out_tongue:

Honda’s announcement translated:

=====
Started global supply of “genuine compatible parts” from spring 2026*

  • New restoration service for the first generation NSX also started at the same time -*

Honda will start supplying “genuine compatible parts” globally for some discontinued models for customers who want to continue to ride their favorite cars for a long time. This makes it possible to maintain good vehicle condition.*
In addition, a new restoration service utilizing these genuine compatible parts will also start in Japan at the same time. As the first step, Honda’s representative sports car, the first generation NSX, is targeted. In the future, we plan to expand the scope to other sports type models.

Honda has been supplying repair parts with genuine parts for a certain period of time for vehicles after the end of production. However, in older vehicles, it is becoming difficult to supply all parts with genuine materials. With the cooperation of various business partners, we have been considering the production of replacement parts for parts that are no longer in production and supply. In addition, with the evolution of technologies such as remanufacturing* and 3D printing, the possibilities for new manufacturing and procurement methods for continuous supply of parts are expanding.*
Based on these efforts and background, Honda decided to adopt parts that meet quality standards in terms of function and performance as “genuine compatible parts” and supply them globally.

In addition, the NSX refreshment plan, which has been available since 1993, will be closed for acceptance in the summer of 2025. In the future, we will move to a new restore service that utilizes genuine compatible parts in part so that we can respond to more customers.

Details of new services and parts will be announced on our website around the fall of 2025.
