Ignition lock switch not 100% functional

Is it me or does the G2 have bad ignition locks. I bought a stolen recovery integra where the theives used a screwdriver to turn the car on. Now that I have replaced the ignition lock sometimes i am able to turn the key to “II” sometimes it gets stuck and “I”. I then have to take the key out and try it like 3-4 times to get it work correctly. I then put in a different lock switch in but it does the same thing. Does this happen to anyone else?

You have to wiggle the steering wheel as you turn the key. Doing so helps unlock the wheel so the key will turn.

After the steering wheel is unlocked it gets stuck at “II”. Guess I am the only one that has this problem.

if you are not going to provided accurate response to someones question don’t answer it.

Back to the subject. how does the key look ?is it pretty worn down? if so maybe getting a new key cut then try again.

i was going to suggest that. but he’s tried 2 separate cylinders. maybe something else was damaged during the theft? maybe the housing?

What are you talking about? I gave an accurate response.

Not sure if this will help but a friend of mine had a problem like that an we sprayed some lock oil in there an it help fix it. We put a towel down sprayed in the spray an a lot of black junk came out put the key in turned it a few times. We did that a few more times an there have been know problems with it hope this helps

I agree. The tumblers might just be getting stuck.

The key is a newly cut one. The “newer” lock i put in seemed to have efficient grease on the end of the lock. I will try what darussianone suggested with the lock oil.
Yeah I guess something inside the housing may be messed up but I dont think i will mess with that as winter is coming. I guess i can live with it for now. Thanks for all the response guys.
