If you buy something from me I go out of my way to describe it. I have a one page long disclaimer about my shipping practices alone. Someone bought expired print cartridges from me and they didn’t work. In my auction terms I clearly state that 1) the cartridges expired 4 years ago 2) the cartridges are being sold as is with no warranty state or implied 3) the cartridges cannot be returned. These are HP units they sell for around $40 each, I got them for nothing, and sold them to this guy for $3 + shipping.
This guy is trying to hit me with sending him an item and that item not matching the description in the auction. I can’t wait to get banned. Ebay forgot along time ago that the sellers are their customers, NOT the buyers.
Same thing happened to me, except that I was trying to sell a broken Western Digital Hard Drive. I was pretty clear with the description, but a bunch of people from Greece and Mexico who didn’t bother to use Google translate to figure out that the bolded and underlined word pasted on my ad meant “BROKEN”, brought the bid up to about $110 USD.
Shipped the hard drive, got hit with a “item not matching description” charge, and I just refunded the guy’s money since I didn’t want to deal with it.
the guy backed down. 1st time as a seller I’ve had some one back down. I was ready to go to war over $3.
I don’t sell outside of the lower 48 states for those reasons alone (not to mention dealing with customs and tariffs and duty) and my blocked bidder list seems to get an addition or 2 at the end of every auction. I say it often “I long for the days when home internet access was luxury, the cost of an entry level desktop PC was around $2000 and a 1 owner 1990 Integra with 90k miles had a fair market value of around $6000.”
"Dear junkman,
I ALMOST didn’t leave you a “Feedback” to my item ordered, but decided to so that I could send this message. YOU are depriving yourself of receiving Positive Feedback by NOT providing your eBay ID on your return address label. I ordered alot of coupons from various Sellers and I don’t have the time to search for YOU by examining every order I make. If you would just provide your eBay ID on your return address label you will discover that you will receive far more Feedbacks than you realize. I was so disgusted with not finding you that I just left it and went on to other Sellers; went back to it later. Majority of ALL the envelopes I receive, Sellers put their ID on it. Your lack of information hurts you. You deserve Positive Feedback and you’re not getting it because no ones wants to search all their orders just to find you. People with small orders probably can find you. It’s Up to You!!! Someone needs to tell you!!!"
I can’t make this shit up.
Cross Milton Waddams with an arm flailing Guicidi and a patronizing 82 year old. Mix in a bit of Ebay, and you got one happy cardiologist. And a team of psychiatrists (I pity the folks who must deal with her when she’s not under full anaesthesia.)
LOL.
The day ebay revoked the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback, is the day I stopped caring about feedback. I’ll leave it for buyers when I get around to it and its always the same cut and paste job “Great ebayer! A++++ smooth transaction!”. I’ve been on ebay for 12 years and have 625+ unique positive feedback. If 1 negative or neutral makes someone NOT want to buy from me, they can go pound sand. I took a very long break from ebay after the feedback ordeal. Again ebay seems to forget that the sellers are their customers not the bidders!.
