I just started to realize that my car is smoking really bad at high rpms and causing it to throw out blue smoke. I’m thinking that my rings need to be replaced. Correct? Or could this be another problem?
I just did a compression test on my motor and it was 165 straight across for all 4-cylinders. The mechanic said that it was still running strong, but I thought that a normal test was in the 195 area? What is a normal compression run at for our cars?
If my rings need replacing, where would be the best place to get them from online? How much labor is involved for changing them (hours, price)?
