I’ve got some free time coming up here now that my other car is almost done if you need any help.
Not sure if you heard the news though http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193356.

I’m sure you didn’t intend on seeing a 100mph windstorm either. from seeing that damage, yes, it’s repairable, but is it really worth it? salvaged title previously, 2 separate mishaps, and you want the car to in the end be a weekend warrior, track car, etc?
in the long run, you can end up with a really nice awesome car. but to think that you can never (or really hard to, and pay much more) get full coverage insurance, or if something were to happen in process of the repair, and years down the road, the c pillar / roof is to be damaged through again.
i think you would be much more satisfied if you were to keep parts you can now, sell the shell to a scrap yard, and start with a fresh shell/car, with a clean title, so you can have no doubts at all in the future about what the chassis can/cant do. especially at the track if you plan on doing any harsh driving. the pillars are very important pieces, and it would put them to much more stress than daily driving, and would probably cause failure somewhere in the repair.
take this from a guy with a salvaged title car who wished that was one of the things that i didnt have to think about, and a old school volvo with a chop top & no roof, hearing creaking every once in a while on a cruise…
here is some VIDEO footage of the aftermath of the storm in the town of Parsons. I DID NOT SHOOT THIS VIDEO!!

yeah, I lived through that shit. Was the worst way in the world to wake up.
This storm hit Parsons, KS at around 6:45AM by 7AM, the DA was dead.
back from the dead.
car is now garaged. its sitting where its gonna sit until the rebuild begins.
plans have changed. THIS car is essentially gonna be a “beauty queen” now.
I’m just gonna make it LOOK nice and just bring it out to meets/shows.
somewhere, in the future, i will be buying another DA to build.
I didn’t really wanna build another one, but I want that extra comfort in knowing I can get full coverage on my next project.
New DA will be same color, etc. JDM thin moldings are coming to the new chassis, etc.
Things coming to the new shell:
JDM Thin Moldings
VIS Carbon Hood
GReddy SP2 exhaust
Koni Yellow/GC Suspension (until I get new suspension for my “functional” car)
Most of my Interior goodies, etc.
Plans for the new car’s suspension:
Tein SRC coilovers (hybrid setup. fronts from an EG/DC chassis, and rears from a CRX if they offered them for the CRX) *i want a low, yet functional stance, with plenty of shock travel.
MIIIIIGHT keep the suspension techniques front sway bar
Custom rear subframe brace (not a fan of the “flimsy” ASR) with 23 or 24mm rear bar
Spherical bearings to replace any bushings that I can find them for.
A full roll cage.
the B20VTEC I was planning on building for my old DA will go in the new DA, to be dubbed “Project Function”
its about time:D
:werd:
still gonna be a slow process. it is now 100% safe from the elements that NoVa regularly sees.
focusing now, on moving into our new home so we can start a new chapter in our lives. once all is leveled out (financially, i mean) the build(s) wil commence.
i have a borderline perfect power steering pump for sale if anyone wants it.
also, OEM sway bars
a few random AC lines etc. need to pull the AC compressor off asap so I can sell that, too. It got hot as fack when I was taking it all off, and when i stopped, i never finished up lol. still have a few hardlines to remove here and there, but most everything is gone.
if anyone wants something, let me know. if i’ve got it, i’ll pull it and sell it. some things i’m keeping, others, i’m not. let me know, peeps.
up.
need cash asap, if u need parts hit me up.
lmk what u need. if i still have it, and am willing to part with it, we can arrange a price/shipping arrangements.
pics will be hard to provide, as i dont have access to a computer. im posting from my phone. i can send pic messages mobile-to-mobile if its an option for u. phone #'s can be exchanged in emails to keep things secure.
ill buy the jdm side molding from you bro and other things u may have let me know
keeping the moldings they are going on my next project (though, i may just leave them on this one and rock thins on both cars)
email about anything else u need.
the general list of parts i have:
OEM Sway bars (i THINK i still have oem bushings, used)
OEM B18A1 Power steering pump and a few lines
various interior pieces (3rd brake light, etc.)
most of my aftermarket stuff is staying with me, but if u need spare OEM goodies, lmk and i’ll see if i still have it, and if so, we can work out pricing/shipping info, etc.
i also have some brand new, in the box Energy Suspension rear trail arm bushings for sale.
im posting from my phone so i couldnt edit my last post. if a mod sees this, by all means, merge the posts. im not a fan of double posting.
just let me know what you are looking for, and if i have it and can part with it, we’ll work it out.
BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG UPDATES COMING SOON!!!
stay tuned.
rebuild to commence in the next 30 days
you are a savage, if i were in your position. I would of stripped the car down and picked up another DA shell to work from. I’m assume this car has a lot of meaning behind it, since you want to restore it and keep it going.
I’m waiting to see what happens…
did the one pieces get ruined at all?
one pieces are still mint
DA JeLLie, where’s a good place to get a Seibon CF hatch for cheap? $600 is a lot higher than they used to be, that was definitely a turn off
a few years ago, i found them for less than $500. now, Seibon’s hatches are all north of 6 hundo
I have always loved your car! Totally looking forward to updates on this. Not really into CF though.
Seibon has always been much more expensive than ViS for some reason. I believe they are made from the same factory overseas. I will do a little research for you and see what I can find.
no updates :wtf:
Glynn, i can finally say that updates are coming soon. (as in, the gears for the rebuild cycle have begun) no more estimating. this thing is FINALLY coming back to life
