Import Alliance is having there 3rd Annual Spring Meet on Sunday, April 17, 20ll in Atlanta, GA.
Once again, it will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center/Atlanta Falcons Georgia Dome’s parking garage in beautiful downtown Atlanta. So rain or shine, the meet will go on in the parking structure where the fee is $5 to drive in. The Meet will begin at 9a.m and go until 5p.m.
The address is 1 Georgia Dome Dr under the Red International parking deck which has a capacity of 2,000 parking slots on 7 levels. People will be advised to get there early as attendance was 1500 cars strong last year and Twitter and FaceBook sources have it as being doubled the attendance from the recent responses on those websites. The buzz in the southeast region is that this event may overtake the attendance of the Summer IA Events in Nashville, TN since it is under a parking deck from the elements (but with that record number of attendance, we would have to find out for ourselves next month)!
Also, if you happen to be in the region or anyone making the track all the way from the West Coast, be sure to stop by the local performance shop, Mainstream Performance in Dallas, GA for the SouthrnFresh.com “Greet and Meat” grill and welcoming party the day prior to Import Alliance. More info about this gathering can be had on SouthrnFresh.com or go to Mainstream Performance.com.
I’m most confident that all the DA/DBs in the Atlanta metro will show there face in the place, but I’d like to know those here on G2IC that will be attending this event so that I may be able to meet with them in person. I enjoyed the company of my meet members in Dallas, TX when I resided out there and always welcomed new ones from out of town to feel comfortable. Like to hear a roll call for those that will be at IA Atlanta 2011 and show them the same love. Below is the invite to the Saturday event on the 16th of April…
Since no one here on G2IC has responded to this thread, a little encouragement with photos from the past 2 Atlanta I.A Spring Meets. I feel that pictures are a thousand words. But then again, you all might not be interested.
Man I so planned on going to the meet but unless I get tires by then there isn’t a chance in hell I could make it. Hope it turns out good. I went to the Summer meet last year and it was one of the best Import scene experience of my life!
Great! Hope that I see you and your friends make it there safe and you guys enjoy your time out in Atlanta. There is a lot of activity going on in the city starting friday night and saturday is supposed to be heavy with action after the “Chillin’ & Grillin’” meet at Mainstream that afternoon. There is a BIG Meet at Barrett Parkway saturday night, but some feel it is too far out, for out-of-towners so they are organizing a meet in downtown Atlanta at a burger joint called The Varsity ($#!tty food, but lots of parking)that same night. Follow up on the development of this thread on Import Atlanta.com…http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?310510-4-16-Varsity-Import-Alliance-Preview I may stop by this one as I live between the Georgia Dome and the Varsity and have no plans to drive out to Barrett Parkway.
The varsity? hell yeah i hear yah man…i may not be from atlanta, but im almost to the point where i know it as my own city by now…fd and nopi since 07’ , every year . and ive got a girlfriend in roswell…so i wont be missing import alliance for sure
“D.A TODAY NEWS report! Keeping you informed on whats right in the G2 community! Heres Dick Johnson with weather…”
“Alright guys, 4 days til the streets of Atlanta begins its infestation of project builds, 5 days til all the pre-events throughout the city and 6 days til I.A! I Googled, '2011 Import Alliance Spring meetin Atlanta’ and several pages of different club sites and organization has a lot of threads buzzing over the upcoming event. So here it is for the forecast in the area as of today. Saturday, April 16th calls for: partly cloudy, high 62°F, low 38°F with a 20% chance of precipitation. Sunday, April 17th, partly cloudy, high 63°F, low 44°F, 10% chance of precipitaition. So rain is not a factor here in Georgia that weekend. Though this event is in a parking garage, we should still be fine. Now I’ll send it over to Brock Mason with sports”…“Thanks Dick. In sports news”…
…oh my bad, got carried away. Just so hyped about this event.:stfu:
“Reporting live from downtown Atlanta, the site of Import Alliance Spring Meet '11, here is Porn Star Extraordinaire, Big Jim Slay”…
Hey guys and gals, the weekend has just begun and the excitment is off the meet rack for a lot of folks getting ready for I.A’s Spring Meet down here at the Georgia World Congress Center/ Atlanta Falcon’s Georgia Dome in less than 43 hours from now! People that may be already out here in town a little early to visit family and loved ones or just anticipating the event, may want to pick up the local paper that is free called “Creative Lofting” to find some social events to get envolved with while they wait til Sunday. We dont want to keep you bored, so there are plenty of other little events for you and your friends that may be interesting in doing tomorrow. I cant really say for this evening as Dick in the weather room has some disapointing news as far as rain this friday.
Other than that, if you check out the link attached, there are also three Spring festivals going on at several parks within the city with live musicians and activities for the family. Sweetwater 420 Festival at Candler Park will feature 13 acts performing live on stage. The Atlanta Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park will have over 9 performers and the Inman Park Festival will feature 7 acts on three different stages. For more information, just follow the link below and keep your mind occupied until I.A is in full effect. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_localatl/20110414/ts_yblog_localatl/atlanta-festivals-three-popular-spring-events
For those who plan to partake in these events, please enjoy our wonderful city and do have a good time. But also dont forget about the pre I.A event from Southrn Fresh.com Meet in Dallas, Ga at Mainstream Performance! For those on the road, please be careful and make conscious decisions and drive safely and do hope to see you Sunday. Til then, this is Big Jim Slay for DA TODAY news, covering whats best for the G2IC community. God Bless. Now heres Dick Johnson with weather…
“Thanks Jim, heres an update on the weather currently in the Atlanta metro area.
This afternoon and late in the evening calls for scattered thunder storms across the metroplex, with a High: 72° with a Low: 59°. So no drifting and street racing at Hartsfield/Jackson Atlanta Airport parking terminal tonight what-so-ever. Saturday kicks off some nice weather with some daylight clouds and temperatures at a High: 70° and
Low: 46°. I’m confident that all those that are planning for the pre-meet events or festivals that Jim mentioned will for surely enjoy that. And as we move into Sunday, the day of I.A, the weather looks promising! Mostly sunny with a High: 74° and a Low: 48°. So with all that said we hope that you get off work or making your way down here will be comfortable knowing that Import Alliance Spring Meet here in Atlanta this year will be quite festive in itself. We do hope you enjoy.”
