In need of new carpet

I need new carpet for a 92 integra coupe, where should I start looking? What companies make replacement carpets for our year cars??? Thanks

There are lots of companies that offer ‘replacement’ carpet for a DA. None of them will fit properly and will usually need some form of light modifications to fit. Trimming, holes made, etc…

If you want the best quality carpet you can get, go for OEM or good quality used. I’ve heard of people using regular carpet using the OEM as a cutout to make their own, but dunno about the PITA factor on that diy.

1st option…oem: new or used
2nd option… getting aftermarket, but yes use or old carpet as a template, that should give u the closest or exact fit to ur ride.

I have the carpet from the rearended 92 coupe (3dr). It’s blue and in decent shape. You want to drive up to Marysville, I’ll let you have it for a 12 pack of Tecate’ ($12/cans). Have other interior stuff also. come and get it.

i pulled mine and bought carpet dye from advance auto. it looks brand new and has for over a year now. the carpet was old and stained as hell before.

I’ve also bought formed, but not cut, carpet from 1AAuto.com. Like $100 shipped and they sent me an envelope with small samples of their different blues prior to my ordering.

Be18see1: what color was the carpet before you put the die on it? Can you post some pics?

FYI, the un-cut aftermarket types are much harder to modify than it sounds. I tried, and opted for an OEM-used in the end.

After I found out how poorly made (regarding fitment) the aftermarket ones were, I also opted to dye the carpet. It came out fantastic considering the cost! I have the pictures at home, I can post them up this weekend.

on a side note… maybe instead of carpet, we could put some line-x up in that ride. or rhino-liner, or whatever. i haven’t seen that other than inside the trunk, which i might do in the future. or that lizard skin looks appealing.

I thought about that too but I’m not sure how heavy that stuff is. Also, it’s so abrasive that I’m sure it would be hard to clean regarding dust etc.

whats nice about the lizard skin, is that its sandable and paintable. personally i’m waiting for passwordjdm to get more floor plates in stock so i can buy some for the front.

weight… only really matters when u’re racing. but for a DD like mine, weight isn’t that important to me. i like the floor plate for looks, comfort and function

N Ful FX - Want to see the pics…interested in how good the die job looks. I don’t have any holes but it is tired looking and want to revitalize it!

Thanks.

Crap I forgot to reply to this thread.

I couldn’t find the pictures sorry :frowning: But the difference is VERY WORTH IT considering the low cost.

I had to opt for getting some aftermarket replacement carpet. Mainly cause I installed the CDN seatbelts and there was going to end up having a big hole on each side where the USDM reel came out of. It was supposed to be really good, but the fitment just sucks balls. I used the padding from my old carpet and used 3M spray adhesive to glue it down around the door sills and certain areas. The main shitting looking part is in the back where it is vertical coming up to the back seat bottom, it’s kinda bunched up and wrinkled looking cause of excess due to the shape of that molded area. Most people don’t notice it much cause I got black carpet so it’s kinda dark to see it. So it general most people who get in my car don’t see that it looks bad. But to me personally I know where the flaws are and it bugs the shit out of me.

I want to call up some CDN dealers to see if they have some new OEM graphite carpet. But have a feeling it won’t be cheap. Shipping either.

Found em! They’re in chronological order. (before, during, after). Once installed it looked GOOD AS NEW!

Looks like I’ll be getting some dye. Thanks alot.

Search for the thread on the proper technique for dying it. In a nutshell you should use a spray bottle with hot water and dye mix. Make sure you clean it as much as possible first to allow the best adhesion of the dye to the carpet.
