I just got my 1990 LS Teg, and it already has Indiglo gauges installed. The question I have is this.
When you use the display light switch on the dash to make the dash lights brighter or dim, the way the indiglo has been installed and I would like to know if this is normal, again since I am new to this, when you turn the dash lights all the way dim, the indiglo lights get the brighttest, when you dim the dash lights the indiglo gets the brightest. The normal dash lights light up and displays the gauges without the glo, show this has been disabled, or is this normal?
Chances are the power for the gauges are drawn from the gauge lights. I had this problem too. If you move the power source to the fuse box, this will no longer be an issue. At least this took care of my problem!
I just purchased a set of Silver Faced Reverse indiglo gauges for my 90 teg. My question is if I disconnect to light that lights up the factory gauges, how will I see the gauge needles? Any idea’s on how to light these up? Phillip :rant: :shrug:
I have seen them for our model, I just didn’t get them, it seems like too much hasle. I have the white reverse indiglo gauges. I can see the needle fine!!
I suggest just trying it out first. Another suggestion would be to ask the seller if he can get them for a g2.

since were on the topic…when I turn on my parking lights, the indiglos light up perfectly. but the dash lights that are suppose to come on don’t light up. only the indiglos are light up, if i hook it up to the fuse box were exactly do i hook it up…thanks
Thanks ncollini… also when i hook it up to any 12 volt source just turn on the parking lights and it’ll light up or will i need to make a switch. thanks again.
Depending on the model gauges you have it will matter, some have on/off switches some don’t. If I were you, I would just run the lead under the parking light fuse and pinch the wire betwen the fuse and the outlet for the fuse. I know its "half assing it"but, if you hide the wires, who aside from you will ever know, and it is a lot less a headache.

Where is the headlight power source, or parking lights power source and what does the wire look like? Will pinching it between the fuse not blow the fuse? I tried doing this with the remote wire for my amp when the one on the rca wire went out. Man everytime I turned the switch, POP!! No fuse!:bang:
I had mine hooked that way at first, for months. No problem.m I will have to check on the wire. I had a friend help me find it. It was a pain in tha a$$.
Check out “my guage install” it should help you out. I installed rev I-glo’s in my car recently and hated the fact that I could not see my needles at night so I put four blue LED’s in my dash with chrome holders if you look at the daylight pics you will see them above each of the gauges. The pics do absolutly no justic though. you have to see it your self to beleive it. also you paint the needles with flourecent paint and they glo from the blue light. there are some good pics of what this looks like at www.autoi.com look for lumiglo needles there is great pics and they sell a kit for 49.95 or so to do this. but I would do it your self if you have any know how of electronics every thing you need is available at your local radio shack. you can do this for about $17 or cheaper if you find a better sorce for led’s look around on the net. I have seen them for $2 ea. on some electronic supply sites. and you only need 4 of them. If you have any guestions just e-mail me and I can give you step buy step instructions. my e-mail
Check out the gauge lights on the link above. They are a little bright, but they sure light up the needles. Plus you can do this in almost any color you want!

If you did not install a dimmer for the LED’s then you will want to because it will allow you to adjust it so you can.
also what kind of indigloes do you have?
I have reverse indigloes and I have them turned up to ther max brightness as well as the LED’s and it looks perfect. Abosultly freaking awesome. Did you follow my directions or do it on your own? Just currious
