Is the Infinity BassLink any good? or is it Junk? Any of you guys have this or heard the quality of this sub? I’m considering this since it’s self amplified. I’m not looking for booming bass or anything…just something to give my system more bass depth.
i havent heard this sub nor have i heard any reviews on it. I think you’ll have a better chance of getting a reply to your question on sounddomain.com HTH.
i have one and am very pleased with it. if you’re looking to shake the car next to you in traffic, look elsewhere. but if you’re looking for meaningful musical bass then this is perfect. i can crank it up to my preffered listening level and the basslink keeps up (all kinds of music too, rap, rock, dance, etc.). best of all, i can barely hear anything when i’m outside of the car, that means all that musical goodness for me, none for you, lol. i think i’ve replied to a thread like this before, try a search if you need more info. hth…
yeah i talked my friend into buying one for his civic and it sounds good. now i just need to save up 250 bucks to buy one. check out http://www.zebaudio.com/caraudio/infinitysubs.html they have some good deals.
ya it sounds about right for your needs. i personally would never consider it and use the money for separate components, so you should really make sure it suits you. 99% of the time newbies end up upgrading and regretting they didnt invest in the proper equipment to begin with.
Hey, it does sound like something you want, but XDEep is right. It’s prolly more efficient to use the money to start something that is quality. Not saying the basslink isn’t, it’s just that once you upgrade one thing, you’ll want to do another and another and another. It’s addictive. Then you take the link out for something that sounds better and the money was kinda wasted. Get some nice components or a nice SQ sub. It’s better for the long run.

Yeah, my friend suggested the same thing…about how I might wanna upgrade to something better down the line. But honestly, I don’t like playing my radio that loud. I think I should be happy with the basslink added to my system setup. Besides, I didn’t want to go through the trouble of getting another amp, then a sub, then all the wires. I’m getting a pretty good deal on the basslink, which is why I’m considering it.
Thanks for all the replies…the basslink seems to be exaclty what I’m looking for.
My best friend installed his over the summer and loves it. My little bro just put one in his Accord and it sounds really really solid…like someone said above, won’t make too much noise but will sound great inside the car. I’m gonna pick up one myself when I can throw together the $$$.
I just picked one up “open box” at circuit city for $189. Also found a couple of places selling it for around $200. Check dealtime.
As for the sound, I think it’s perfect for the soundspace. I was looking for great quality sound reproduction - not necessarily something that was going to turn heads from a block away or paint a bullseye on the car for all the assholes who break into rides in my area.
Don’t get me wrong - the basslink pumps. It’s plenty loud enough to get that rear view mirror moving and you’ll be feeling it in the chest depending on your setup.
I am running an Alpine 9807 and four Infinity reference all around, with the basslink mounted in the trunk on the far left side closest to the bumper. Install was a snap, setup is a piece of cake, and it sounds great - I really recommend this configuration to other owners out there.
I listen to all types of music and this thing is a great performer all around. Hip hop, jazz, reggae, classic rock, rock, the whole spectrum. After spending some time configuring the crossover, bass boost, and volume controls, I found a combo where the sound is very tight, clean, and powerful.
Best thing to do is listen to this baby inside of a car if you can. The demos at the shops, where it is mounted “open air,” do it no justice. The enclosure space in the car trunk really impacts the quality of the sound.
Best thing about it - only 1 cubic foot. You get to keep all that space in the back - which I think is definitely one of the G2’s strong points.
