If you have a weird beeping in your Teg coming from the drivers side fuse box you need Acura OEM Part #38600SK7A01. If your wipers don’t work or your rear defroster acts up chances are this is also your problem. It is known to Acura dealerships as the Intergrated Control Unit (ICU). It is located on the back of the fuse panel on the drivers side and is black in color. The tech I spoke with said it also controls some other things…he is just not sure what (go figure). When this part decides to go bad it beeps…
List on this part brand new from a dealer is $204.63.
Now people can search the word beeping and find their cure.
ALSO does anyone have this for CHEAPER than $204.63…I NEED ONE!!!
No beeping, but I do have problems with my rear defroster turning on by itself. Can not control with the switch. You can hear the relay clicking on and off, then staying on.
Wonder if it’s the ICU . . . Not worth $204 to check it out, but maybe worth picking up from someone parting out a car . . .
The ICU (Integrated Control Unit) is basically a combination of 7 modules in one housing.
It contains the following:
Intermittent Wiper Relay (timer for intermittent wipers)
Side marker flasher relay (reverse flashes corner lights with turn signals)
Seat Belt/Key in ignition Reminder circuit (beeps when lap belt not connected and when key is left in ignition. Note : beep when shoulder strap is disconnected comes frm passenger side kickpanel)
Brake bulb check circuit (lights BRAKE warning light on dash if brake bulb is out (supposedly))
Lights on reminder circuit (sounds chime behind center console when lights are left on)
Rear window defogger timer (self explanatory)
Oil pressure warning flasher circuit (flashes OIL light on dash)
You can always try to open it up and “fix” :gun2: the little beeping circuit so it will shut up. :naughty: but the rest should still work.

I would do that BUT, my rear defroster has also been acting up…the timer is just a bit off. I can turn on the defroster when it is cold for the first time and it may stay on for a few minutes like it should…OR it will go off after a few seconds. It has been doing more and more of the few seconds here and there lately.
I guess no one has attempted to repair ICU unit yet? I have the same problem as posted by everyone here. No intermittent wiper function and defroster switch sometime work.

“List on this part brand new from a dealer is $204.63.” ouch, sort of expensive.
Time to pull Helm’s manual and go through trouble shooting procedure.

to whoever wants one…i am just about to be finished parting out my car and its about to be towed away…so if anyone needs an ICU…let me know…I have just taken it off(no beeping ever in my car)…My email is iamtuckin18s@yahoo.com Ill have it alot cheaper than 204…so let me know
oh and they are a bitch a half to get to… when i pull them from parts cars I unblot the fuse block and BUTCHER the wiring harnesses that go into the fuseblock… trying to pull out all those plugs at a shitty angle must suck
What beeping sound is there? Is it loud? I have had, in this order, no chimes or chirps when I leave my lights on with no key in the ignition, no intermittent wipers, and, recently, no rear defroster.
what if neither of all that is my problem but yet my rear defroster jsut isn’t working at all… its a brand new rear windshield so what could it be? faulty wiring i assume?
my rear defrogger and hazzard doesn’t work. I changed both defogger and hazzard button and relay and it did not work. now I am going to change the ICU. Problem, I am having problem removing the old one. I took both bolt out, but the wiring is very tight. can u give me some hint.
