Is this normal for the age of the car (1992)? I didn’t notice rust anywhere else inside the trunk. The only thing I noticed was that the trunk had a funky smell.
Maybe your trunk isn’t sealed like it should be and humidity builds up in there?
I think you are right- humidity, but from water getting into the trunk.
After going through a car wash, I noticed the trunk mat was wet.
