i read in a few post that there are only a few years that have the same wiring diagram as our cars. anything below '90-'99 i think it was. I was wondering if there are any 6 disc in-dash ACURA/HONDA head units that will fit and connect as plug and play.
i dont have use for a big system anymore and sold most the stuff off. but i still need a cd player =P
Pretty much any Honda before 98 used the same harness as a G2. In 98 most switched to a different one. If you don’t mind switching harnesses or working with a few harnesses, it is easy to put a 6 disc from a 98-up accord in a G2.
Honda/Acura 86 to 97/98 all use the same plug, 97/98 and newer have a diff. plug and pre. 86 are diff. then the other two, but it makes no diff., if the HU that you get will not plug into the oem harness in your car, just go to your local car audio shop and get the adpt. harness for your car, and the “reverse” harness for the HU you get, wire the two together, then it’s plug and play time 94
ARe there any clearance issues for the accord 6-disc?? Im planning to just put an OEM honda Unit because i dont want my car a target just becuase of the stoopid stereo…=\
just to clearify…i want the 6-disc in-dash whole unit. i just browsed around and seen that theres an add-on 6-disc from honda. THat is the only in dash changer i can find on the net. I dont want the add-on… i want the one that is the full 6-disc load unit. If anyone has a OEM honda INDASH 6-disc unit im willing to trad emy Kenwood KDC head unit for it! :ohyeah:
as FCM said, it is easy to make your own, even if you don’t want to cut any wires. places like Best buy will have both harnesses needed, just solder the matching wires together.
You can add an amp to any OEM HU, easy way is to get an amp with speaker level inputs, if you have an amp without speaker level inputs all you need is a LOC, [level output converter] or if you want the best possible SQ, get one of these… http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_cleansweep_pages.php?page_id=94
There are other OEM interface units, but IMO the JL Audio one is the best. 94
