Installing Pedals

i searched, but the 3 threads did tell me anything.

How do you install new pedals? most the instructions i’ve seen say to unscrew a bolt, but i looked on my car and there is no bolt to unscrew?!

it depends on the pedals u buy. some have brackets u sandwhich in between, and others, u remove the rubber part, and drill into the pedal itself. it all depends…

screw it, il just ride around with my foot sliding off the clutch

I just installed some OBX pedals and I needed to drill holes in them to install them. I suggest removing the rubber piece on the brake though because that’s very think and sometimes the screws won’t go through that and grab the metal.

I snapped off about 3 screws before the process was complete too.

i think sometimes keeping the rubber on the pedal is good in sandwhiching pedals on, cause it tightens up against the rubber, then when it squeezes it, it creates more pressure of keeping it onto the pedal…
if installing pedals is hard to do, then remove the rubber covers off of the pedal, then get some new griptape for skateboards, then use that, adhesive, grips really good, and cheap…

i’ve got 3 different pedals, one razo (gas), type-r, the lighting ones (brake), and some other no name one, i didnt wanna be lookin funky with mismatched pedals, so i left the pretty razo one alone, then the other two, got some sand paper, put holes in it where the screws hold the sandwhich setup holding on, and double sided tape… good idea at first, but one of the sandpaper things came off… so now ima use skateboard grip tape, sand down the pedals at first, then tape it on…

too bad cant find any silver grip tape, cause then it would look like spoon pedals…

sorry, i guess it sorta went off topic…
but there’s a few ideas for you guys

I’d trust a screw over tape anyday when it comes to something as important as the brake and gas pedals…
