installing rear quarter-panel side molding

So my side molding came off the other day, looks like the previous owner just glued this onto the car.
I want to put it back the proper way. I have a few questions.

  • Are the clips the only thing holding the moldings on?
  • There are three holes on the body but only two places on the molding for clips, am I missing something?
  • On the molding one of the clip holders looks like it’s torn, can this still work or should I order another one for $25 from the dealer, it comes with clips he says.

Just my opinion but, I think that’s a good excuse to upgrade to thin moldings. :smiley:

On the molding, which of the three clip holders are torn? If it’s the middle one, it should still work fine . . . I think. Good luck.
