installing vtec oil jets on a LS or B20 block

I looked up and didn’t find anything.
I’m planning a stroked engine build but can’t make up my mind on a b18c osr B20v, I know some may say go with a B20v but the fact is the block doesn’t have the oil jets line a gsr does. I don’t mind not having them on stock pistons but if i’m running a stoker and forged pistons it’s got to have oil jets for the wrists pins.
Any idea if any machine shop can add the oil jets or if it’s something I can do on my own?

The LS/B20 pistons (especially when stroked) won’t clear the oil jets and you’ll break them.

You don’t NEED them to adequately lubricate the wristpins. Aftermarket pistons have oil-control holes in the piston-ring seats that directs oil straight to the wristpin.

You’re overthinking it… they aren’t needed, nor can you use them on a stroked LS anyway.

makes sense. Thanks man.

A lot of people actually plug the oil-jet galley because aftermarket pistons cool and lubricate themselves just fine. Plugging the galley also bumps oil pressure up a bit, which is good at idle.

But yeah, they aren’t needed.

Oil squirters aren’t need, they are usually plugged anyway to increase oil pressure.

And to answer your b18 or b20 question, i would only use a b20 if you were going to sleeve it. b20 sleeves are weaker then any other b-series motor. If you do end up sleeving the B20/GSR Head combo will make some serious numbers. Punch the sleeved block out too 87mm, enlarge the combustion chamber diameter (you’ll have too because the stock combustion chamber is only 81mm and the piston will be smacking the cylinder head) and you have the makings of a beast mode engine
