Well guys today i droped in my B16 in my teg i hada hell of a time gtting the motor mounts to aline but finnaly got it done i jus finished clening up for today as i type this.I raninto some roblems first the harness that came with the motor has 3 plugs on the passanger side wheer my old B18 harness only had 2 whatdo i do with the extra plug that i have no where to plug it in to. Also on the divers side the harness on the motor only had 2 plugs where as my old b18 harness had 3 what do i do withthte plug tahst one the chassis of thecar with no plug to put in on the harness of the motor. Furher more the header of my b16 is about 6 inchs to shrt to reach my cat th motor came with a small extension pice but ican’t seem t mae it work does it even fit right in the first place.
You can most likely use the header from your b18a. I’m not sure about the harness questions.
Is your B16A a first gen or 2nd gen motor?
Also, the header that came with your car will work perfectly.
my motor is a first gen b16 i also learnedmy car is a 91 not 92 wired cause the titile to my car says 92 ohh well i really like to use the b16 header but if i can’t i’ll use my b18 instead.
You didn’t even know what year your car was? Didn’t you know that both the front and rear bumpers were different on 91’s and 92’s? As well as the steering wheel, the redline on the tach and some other things I’m probably forgetting right now. Wiring will be different for a 91 than for a 92.
well my car did have 92 bumpers but not the streing wheel and cluster it wired cause on the title of my car its says it a 92. Any ways i got every thgn hooked up in my car and the mtoor wont start timmign is correct but im not getting no spark i changed the coil and distributor but nothing i used the JDM harness that came witht he B16 so on the drivers side there is a plug on the car that the harness did’t have anythign to plug it into. I figure the plug is for my warning ligst on my cluster cause the oil,battery light don’t come on witht hte ignition. Well can any one help me outr or thin of anythign i need to have my car runnign again.
You can’t use the JDM B16A wiring harness in US cars. Use your original LS wiring harness and add the necessary wiring for VTEC/Knock sensor. What color are the plugs on your LS harness? Creamy white or grey?
there cream plugs so non OBD i got a first gen non OND motor. i was going to chang the harness from the JDM one to the LS one tomarow better get my hands ready to get all scrached up also the header is about 6 inches to short im going to take it to a muffler shop and have an extension done to my pipe or do u guys know of a better way. All this time i thought my car was a 92 but its really a 92 but it has 92 bumpers and the title says 92 but it has the non OBS motor and the 90-91 stering wheel and gauge cluster ohh well i don’t care i just want to have my ca working again.
