Hey guys, i have a 91 integra GS with a b18a1. So i am going to school and am able to get K&N parts for 50% off through the dealer. So i checked K&N’s parts for the 90-93 Integras with b18/b17(gsr) and this is the intake that comes up. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=57-3501
It makes you still use a portion of the oem intake piping which i dont want to have to do…
now that that is out of the way im wondering if there are any intakes available off of other cars (dc) (ek) (eg) that will fit on the DA9 with b18a1 that WILL CLEAR THE ABS SYSTEM?
i dont have abs and never have had to deal with it BUT…
that style of intake is just fine. look for the greddy airnx for our cars or even the spoon intake for the civic. there isnt really anything “wrong” with the stock rubber hosing but as far as looks go, i can understand what youre saying.
not sure how obtrusive the abs set up is but if i were you, i would go ahead with that k&n… it will work just fine.
Well I want to get a k&n for my car because, well ,I get 50% off haha and they have an excellent warranty and its like a little bit extra than an eBay intake… But I don’t want the one for the DA because I don’t want to use my stock piping at all, for looks purposes. I just want to see if the ones for EG/EK will fit my car and I’ve posted on h-t and can’t get a definite answer, I just don’t want to buy one, have it not fit then have to return it for another.
I have a buddy with a b16 delsol, it has what he thinks is a gsr aem intake on it, it won’t fit, and my buddy sold his old EJ coupe and now drives a 2011GT besides that no almost all my buddy’s are out of the honda game
The best bet for something to work is an intake for an EF civic/crx since those cars have a similar engine bay setup. The EG/DC and newer cars have the battery in a different location which is really want makes the shape of the EF/DA intake different from the EG/DC. Additionally, if you’re going for a cold air, the EF/DA and EG/DC have completely different routing as for how they get the filter into the area behind the bumper and around the frame rail.
With your ABS and original battery location you’re going to be almost exclusively limited to something designed for the DA.
My battery will be relocated to the trunk space, I know on turbo set ups or cais most have an almost 90 degree bend that can squeeze by that abs clearance and virtually go thru the battery spot. The one for ek/eg from k&n bend at like a 45 degree, maybe that will be enough. I legit don’t know how to word it if you type in eg intake on da or da9 I can find crap. Ill do some more searching but the ef /crx intake from k&n still uses the oem hose. Only reason I’m choosing k&n is like I said b4 I get 50% off
So I found a 92-95 civic si intake pretty much a d16z6 so a civic ex one too. It looks like this,
With no battery in the engine bay it seems it follows the same first bend as the stock pipe but continues at an angle instead of curing left to get around the battery.
My guess is it would be somewhat like this If I am correct? Now I know that car has no abs but it looks like it would clear the system.
