Intake hose.

The hose that goes from he intake to the block…some people have the hose between them some i seen take out the hose and have a liltle breather on the block where the hose supose to go…does it make any diffrance?

Not really. The filter gets really dirty. Just for looks.

You’re talking about the valve cover hose that plugs into the intake arm. It will not do anything but best to put it back becoz it help ventilate air from or out from the engine and reuse it.

Why you shouldn’t put a breather filter on.

Last time I smogged my car (Mar of 07) the tech had told me that the tube is necessary in order to pass smog with an aftermarket intake. Now if there is any truth to that I do not know.

There is and on top of that i remember reading about how without it the engine is not properly ventilated. It was said that engine damage may occur, but not for hundred thousand of miles before something happens. I guess its part of the emission becoz the engine burns oil and the fume needs to be reused back into the intake and so is what i read too about it. So any fume like gas, oil, exhaust as part of the emission you would need it in working order. I suppose its there for the reason.

Just click the link spikeymike gave. It should explain it all.

thanx mike…i was just wondering…i should of searched but thanx anyways.

but now another thing…i have an extra hose left after my aem intake was installed i actually got the car like that, and the intake doesnt have an extra hole for a hose…and im not going to make a new one on the intake…what did u guys do? just left it there…or do i plug it?

Pics, should be one large one and one small one.

i know what u mean, What u can do is use the same hose for the big one which is 3/8.
Try to T it off so it share same hose and u should be fine becoz its going in the same place anyway. And yes i dont know why aem dont make it with two. I have pictures of the aem intake but dont want to upload it lazy.

Mine has 3 holes. 1 for the valve cover hose and 2 vacuum lines. But you could just use a t barb fitting and run both to the one hole.

Here is how my AEM was installed.

yea mine got 2 the big one for the valve cover and a litle one and then i have one hanging but i can try and get a lil t for it…but where can i find one…lol…autozone should have it

Oil breather, yup. That’s like 5 horsepower right there.

:umno: Looks like shit too.

5? i thought if i get the dyno tested T for it so i can conect 2 of them and some new blinker fluid ill gain at least 12-17whp…i mean come on now…

Yes that is where I got mine. I think it was a 1/8-1/8-1/4.

man I haven’t replaced my blinker fluid in at least 6 months…

There’s truth in that. Read Spikeymike’s link.

adding a breather filter is probably the most uneducated thing one can do to a B series engine.

ight i didnht do it…i seen it done and i was wondering why…plus im in florida so i dont have to do no emision test and bs like that…

But still, it’s not good for the motor.
