Hello all well i recently traded my 91 integra ls auto for a 90 integra gs manual.
The car is having a idle issue and so far i have just bled the coolant and replaced and connected some vacuum hoses and i havent had time to check the iacv and fitv but will soon.
So my question is what is this part on the intake manifold called?
Because the integra that i got doesnt have this on the manifold but my other integra has it and i noticed that on my LS that part has a vacuum line going to the intake but on my GS it doesnt have that part so the line that goes to the part isnt connected to anything do i need that part or ???
Oh and the car has no a/c it doesnt have the button inside i guess it was an option on these GS models?
its called the dashpot i think… delete it… its useless…
…
what kind of response is that?
It’s an EGR valve.
Automatic Hondas have them, standard trans do not.
Yeah. The full technical name for it is: “Throttle Valve Dashpot Control Diaphragm.” It’s purpose is to soften acceleration. When you take your foot off of the gas pedal it’s supposed to help smooth it out. You don’t need it and you probably won’t notice a difference depending on the way that you drive. Technical description from the service manual states: “the throttle valve dashpot is employed to slow the closing of the throttle valve when it is suddenly closed during gear shifting or deceleration.”
does the dashpot ever go bad? when i take my foot off the accelerator, the RPMs drop and the car shuts off
