Hey all, first post here so i thought id make it about one of the few things i cant find a good answer for… im new on the honda scene (1991 Integra LS, B18A - YS1) and ive been reading as much as i can on the different engines and getting familiar with things, so im getting there. Ok so now to the pros…
Would any of the other B-Series intake manifolds fit my B18A? As close to “bolt on” as possible. And if any do, with the stock throttle body (future upgrade) would u see/feel much benefit?
Would cleaning up/working on the standard one be of more benefit?
Reasoning behind this is that a friend who works at a wreckers (and owes me a favour ) said hed be able to get me one cheap… so if there is any benefit to be had i might as well get one, a few beers and call it a day!

Get a 94+ integra intake manifold or aftermarket skunk2, blox, Victor x, list goes on… But since you are pretty much stock I wouldnt even bother with a intake manifold for a B18A at this point.
So an intake from a B18C will bolt straight on? Again, only reason im asking is cuz its basically gonna be free, otherwise i wouldnt bother either. Just planning a slow mild build, freshen up the motor and any extra horses are a bonus, stock manifold would probably handle the mods i have planned anyway, maybe just give it a port an polish?.. if any other stock manifolds would fit and flow that bit better might still be worth grabbing one.
He works at a Honda wrecker, so are there any other parts i should hit him up for instead? Newer model cams maybe? (if theyd fit) …throttle body? whole head? hell even a higher output alternator that would fit!? lol
No an intake manifold from a B18C will not fit. If that B18C is at the yard and can get it completely for free and build that up instead of the B18A.
Yes you could build you B18A but for it to be actually “fast” you will need to do a lot of work. Might be better off on doing a swap or LSvtec in the long run.
Theres afew integras in the yard, but i dont think hell give me the whole motor for free!.. might be able to work something out tho, see how i go… ill leave everything as it is for now, do some more reading before i decide on my final build i think.!
