Intake resonator removal (w/ pics)

I took out my ugly intake resonator today and thought I would take a few pictures. (for those of you who can’t understand stuff without them).

Oh by the way, I didn’t take off my bumper because:

  • I’m lazy (simple as that)
  • My bumper is fucked up enough from a previous crash

Picture 1:
Remove the splash guard by taking off two bolts as shown.

Picture 2:
The third bolt for the splash guard is located right under.
Then take the splash guard out of the way by tucking it on the wheel
Turning your wheels all the way to the left will be helpful.

Picture 3&4:
These are where the three bolts are located, pretty self-explanatory

ok, have fun.

What benefit do you get with removing that? Pros/Cons anybody? Opinions? Kind of new to this stuff.

you can mount ur cai in place of it also if you have a 90-91 bumper even better …you get more cold air! from the hole on the bottom portion of the bumper

Removing your intake resonator will make more intake noise. I eventually put mine back on because i got tired of it. It sounded fine, just too loud in the cabin for me.

easy as pie

yo thanx 4 da pics they helped.except 4 the 3rd bolt it was rusted so it took some kickin and the airbox resonator popped right out…that screw is still there though.

wat does this gain for u

That’s probably about it. It does sound meaner, some people like it better.

i cant wait to try this… well i have today… took the two bolts from the fender part but all of a sudden it starts pouring on me… what luck…:tapfing:

anyone got pics of the resonator on the g2? and shown?
