I’ve been looking at the multiple ground kits on ebay for teggys… Im really curious if they really increase throttle response and power… does anybody know anything about these kits?? heres a link…

You would get the same results, [5-8 HP, maybe if you have shitty grounds to start with] by “beefing up” the stock grounds, make your own ground out of 4ga cable, make it just like the stock ground, mount/connect it to the same places, replace the valve cover ground with an 8ga or 6ga, you can make the whole thing, [cable and terminals, even the roll of solder you need] for less then the shipping they want to send you that $4 cluster f*%k.

BTW, do you think he makes his money on the $4 part, or the shipping and handling charges:squint: 94

FCM,

would you happen to know exactly how many grounds there are in the engine bay? Are they easy to get to?

thanks
FK

There are a number of grounds in the engine bay, the main ones are the batt. to chassis and batt/chassis to motor ground, [main ground], there is also the valve cover to chassis ground, all other grounds are for components that need grounds, like head lights. 94

for my ground wire system i bought the suns hyper ground system. it doesnt really make a difference to me. the only thing i notice is that my lights are a little brighter. i might have gotten a little bit of hp but i dont notice it. i can get pictures of it installed if u want. just let me know if u want to see them.

sure… i’d look in the bay but thats right i blew my clutch and its all alone sitting in a parking lot waiting to be stolen… :uhoh:

blazed, how long did it take you to install the whole kit? were the spots easy to get to?

I spent a few hours running and looming the upgraded grounds when I did them last time. I didnt spend a dime on a kit though. I used 2awg welding cable, heatshrink, and crimpable fittings. For my power to the amp I installed an 160 amp anl fuse mounted on the firewall.

Were the spots easy to get to??
Is anything easy to access in our engine bays?
You need to replace your batt to ground, engine ground, then your power going from the alternator to the starter, power from your starter to the fuse block, and from there to the battery, not to mention the power going to any amps.

I would consider it a necessity to any decent stereo beyond entry level.

it didnt take long at all it was like an hour at the most.

5-8hp? youre kidding right

blazed, can u post up the pic of the install or simple details on where the connections are suppose to go. i just got the sun hyperground system and i know that i didnt do it right.hehe… thanks in advance…

heres my set up for the grounding kit. i knoe the bay is messy…

so how is ur now hyper ground kit? feel or see anything different about it? ill post pics later of mine cuzz its dark now

I’ve had first hand experience with the Buddy club grounding kit/botlage stabilizer, and my own grounding kit. They will not really do anything for you unless you have SHITTY old grounds that are corroded right through. Some ppl claim to have smoother idles afterwards but I didn’t notice a diff. Just made things look purdy, but clustered at the same time. I ended up ripping it all out and just beefing up existing grounds and what not.

^ Agreed…Get the Ebay kit or just make your own, whichever one is cheaper/easier for you.

about how many feet of 4ga cable would you need?

theres no big difference. lights got a little bit brighter, response is a little bit better, and about 18-20 more miles to the tank (use to get 260 ish now 280ish). btw, i ddnt replace any of the old wires. just followed the connections showed in the instructions.
