Integra Type R style headlights for the G2

I were wondering if any member on here actually attempted to make Integra Type R style headlights for our car’s. In the search and I search quite a bit I couldn’t find any modification to the headlights. However I did found a headlight conversion done by a member on here long time ago.

I bought my DB1 in November of 2016 and the car has been sitting in my driveway there ever since I got it. It has some goodies on there including a aftermarket black housing one piece headlights that need some cleaning. The previous owner told me the headlights bulb is burnt out and need to be replace. I ask him for both because both of them didn’t work only the foglights and the corner lights. I purchase the DB1 that day and had my friend drove it home for me.

I’m planning to modify the headlights to make it look like a Integra Type R headlight. I purchase light’s from ebay 2 out of the 3 is within United States while one is from China. So I’m assuming it’ll take awhile to get the one from China.

In the meanwhile I’ll take apart the aftermarket black housing headlight’s on my day off from work. Hopefully its not raining by the time I do it. Crossing my fingers…

That look nice and the brightness is good. But I were thinking of making it look like the Integra Type R headlight with the corner lens, project light, and the high beam.

Apparently someone that I follow on Instagram was able to fit the Morimoto Mini H1 bi-xenon projectors in these lights. It’d be nice to still be able to get great highbeams along with the nice cut off on the lows. I think if you were to try to cram 3 separate lights into the housing you wouldn’t really gain anything over the relatively simple retrofit route.

That’s sound nice. I believe by fitting in three separate light it wouldn’t downgrade the output of the lights. I wanted something where it fit the G2 instead putting and modifying the body to just fit G3 Integra Type R headlights.

Are you looking to actually install jdm itr headlights like these on your car?

I actually attempted to make a pair of custom Type R style headlights using a pair of very tired jdm one pieces YEARS ago. Could have worked out too if it wasn’t for the design of our radiator supports interfering with the necessary bulb placement for both the low and high beam bulbs at the rear of the headlamps once you space them out like the Type R lights are. Our headlamps just aren’t deep enough to accomodate the projector and seperate high beam reflector without hacking the core support to fit them. It’s a shame because I really thought it would look cool!

Here’s a few old pics I found. Obviously very “in process” but I never even got close to finishing them. Simply wasn’t going to work the way I’d envisioned with our chassis.

No I wasn’t going to install jdm itr headlights onto my car. I wanted to make jdm itr style headlights. Like you were doing years ago. Your setup look pretty nice. How come you never finish it?

I bought 3 separate lights. I got 2 out of 3 just waiting for the light to come in the mail.
