integracer91's b16 hesitation/ bogging issue (searched)

Hello. recently I noticed my car would lose power and seem to struggle while cruising at around 2700-3200 RPM on highway in 5th gear. I searched throughout Google and the forums and I never could find a true CLEAR solution. Most responses were very vague and seemed to come from inexperience.

With my particular issue, I noticed a while back that my car seemed to hesitate occasionally at random times. But recently, it has escalated to becoming a more frequent issue. While driving at highway cruising speeds in 5th gear, my Integra seems to lose power, as if it is not getting a correct mixture of air/ fuel at around 2700 to 3200 rpms. When I release the throttle then apply again, it operates normally for a short while, then the same symptoms occur again… I have experienced a similar feeling in a 91 Civic I used to own that had a bad head gasket. The difference here is that my Integra does not emit smoke from the exhaust at all, while the Civic emitted a thick black/ grey smoke, leading me to believe that the Integra does not have a head gasket issue.

So this is where I stand. I am stuck trying to figure out what is going on exactly, and frustrated because I have thrown so much money at this car to keep it on the road…

I LOVE my Integra - so much that I don’t think I will ever sell it. Have any of you fellow G2IC peeps had a similar issue? If so, what was the problem, and how did you remedy it?

I look forward to your responses, and thank you for your time and input.

-Jeff

P.S. I should also add that my Integra has a B16AII swap from a JDM EG Civic, with a chipped P28 ECU, recently installed brand new Magnaflow cat, and Megan Racing headers.
