Once my car starts to idle normally it seems that it likes to fluctuate. It goes up 100 PRM and back down 100 RPM constantly. This is with out any accessories on. What would cause this.
most likely your fuel/air intake. have you done anything to your air intake?? if so, that is why. or it is your distributor. things to try, clean your air filter, use good gasoline (chevron, shell, texaco), try a fuel system cleaner (it takes about 2 trys to get everything clean), clean or replace your spark plugs. i took off my air intake resonator (teg tips) and the idle fluctuated. my dad suggested trying a mid-grade (89 octane) and it helped. the added octane also helps with the fuel mileage and can help bring horsepower back up to its original ratings.
I took off my air resonator, I have a new distributer because my old one seized up, and i run 92 octane. That seems to be everything that you said except for me to maybe change the spark plugs or clean my system out.
Did you tried resetting the ECU?
Ya, I disconnected the negative and took out the fuse for the ecu. I waited about 10-15 min, then started it and let it run for 5-7 min. This seemed to do nothing. Everythign stayed the same.
ok, IAC Valve maybe? You should try to clean it…

it’s bolted behind the intake manifold(firewall side), you simply need to remove it and clean it with some cleaner(don’t exactely know what to use, I once heard to use carb cleaner).
HTH!
I’ve been having the exact same problem. i tryed everything! i replaced the AICV, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, o2 sensor, fuel filter, reset the ECU and cleaned my filter. none of these helped, from what i’ve heard from many owners this is a normal Acura defect.
