Is a new gauge cluster really that hard to install?

the guy that sold me a JDM cluster recommended that a professional do the installation, but i’ve heard that it’s just plug and play. he said the hardest part was removing the dash and extending the speedometer cable. I did a search on the subject but found nothing that mentions moving the speedometer cable. is it really that complicated? could a laymen do it? please help, i dont want to get into something thats over my head. thanks a lot

Not that complicated. Its just a lil tight on space to fit your hand back there to release the cable. The easiest way i found to do this is to disconnect the cable from the tranny and back feed it into the cabin until you have enuff room to release the cable.

Easy as pie. the hardest part is removing the bezel. Do the teg tip with the speedo cable, it makes it easy!
