is it just me or.....

Race aside because I have friends of all races, your posts show complete ignorance to what parts are made for and the intentions behind them. Your are the poster child for being mad fast and super furious yo… You tell someone that they have no need for sway bars??? Do you know they will show damn near as much improvement in handling then a full set of good coilovers or some good sleeves and shocks??? Those 2, plus bushings, are the hands down BIGGEST improvements in the suspension of our 20 year old cars you can do. But then again being mad fast and super furious keeps you from realizing that.

None of my original comments were directed at you, but since you decided to come in here and be voiceful, I guess I can point out you too.

talking about horse power and handling , what you running anyways?

No horse power, that is why I dont post in there.

But suspension wise, I spent over 6 months researching exactly what I wanted out of my car.

-Function & Form Type2’s
-Revo front upper a-arms
-ST front sway bar
-ST rear sway bar
-Skunk2 rear LCA
-Megan rear camber kit
-Engery suspension hyperflex master bushing set
-DC sports front upper strut bar(not happy with and changing to a 3 point)
-16" Fnor1c’s
-215/45r16’s rt615’s
-Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel
-Competition Clutch stage 1
-JDM B18b
-No name intake
-RS*r GTII cat back

Each one of those parts were bought for a specific need, not because of price… More stuff would be done, but currently saving up to open a business this up coming summer.

did you read that thread?

i didnt tell him not to get the sway bars , i told him not to get lcas.

look my sale thread, http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198044
i am looking for some st swaybars now, why would i tell him not to get it?

here is a quote of my post
i dont think you need to buy LCA unless your bushings in the stock lcas are bad

you could put bigger swaybar and strut bar, and lower tie bar , in the rear, you will feel stiff in the rear around corners, i just have GC and rear strut bar and tie bar. it feels stiff handles great around corners

i suggest you check all your bushings , if any of them are shot, replace them.

for the bars you are looking at 300, most of 300 is your swaybar, if you shop around. there are used stuffs, you can get everything for 100-200
i am not impressed by F&F. those movies are made for money and entertainment, i think you know it better than me. i like their cars and their set up, the whole idea of the moives is about drag racing, and to be rice

anyways , since you got the wrong idea about me , cuz you think i am noob and i dont know anything.

i am noob ,but i know better than people who have been in the game for years

every single mod on my car was done by me and my dad’s hands. i clearly know how all the suspension parts pieced together and how they function after i lowered my car.

anyway, i feel like i am wasting my time talking to you , we are just so different people

let me tell you something you might dont know
stock front swaybar is not a solid bar, it empty inside, and every 1mm bigger your swaybar you feel 6times stiffer in the corner, there is formula to that

bigger the swaybar you get , stiffer the springs you should get to blance with.
The things I’ve notice is that a lot of technical post become war between 2-3 members. So those thread with infos are deleted.

When I signed here, I was used to find much information and much more easily than now.

I am sure there are many members who are like me and they only lurk the forum and they do not post only by lack of interest. They expect that the subject will turn to war.

I don’t know if I’m the only one too feel like this but…wtv.
Same here. Just like Now when people have build threads all it is is “new integra” and it looks like the same car as the above with the SAME mods.

I love the DA, but we got to start reppin harder!

yes i am the one who used a tie down to hold my rad. in so what .it was for a picture while my real bracket was getting machined at z10 motorsports. its about time most of you get my point . ive been watchin this site for 6years before i became a member and the way to g2ic site use to get down back then was much better…like someone else posted we dont need to see 12 sets of rims on the same car and 17 pages of the same post… its just wasted space. i only post when i think its worth seeing or its something else no has done before 90 percent of my car i did myself in my garage… so i dont always run for a camera to snap shots when i busy on the teg…

true that, did a lot of things to my car before i actually put pictures up. lol

anyways, i see where your trying to get at.

But people nowadays want to post pictures up of what they have, might not be great to others, but great to them.
Not EVERYONE will have the same ideas of building their cars(400+hp turbo cars, 100% full track car, etc) Most of everyone on this site is pretty much at the same level of building their cars, so you wont see much difference from thread to thread, but now IF everyone had the same goals such as “400+hp turbo DA’s” then you’d see it how it is now, same shit different day, but as opposed of “check out my new wheels thread” its check out my “got my new intercooler today” etc etc.

Not everyone has a build thread, so they post their parts in seperate threads(which i see why there is a lot of the same threads)
but this “cycle” is what keeps g2ic going, it may not be the same as the past years, but thats just how it is now. I doubt it will get back to anything in the past.

my opinion about this subject.

Solution?

(Since I think this thread have potentiel…let’s keep it alive)

I don’t think new blood will help the current situation…

What I think could be a good way to help the forum is putting more technical info in those Build Thread.

What do you think?

there is no solution,
only solution is that, theoretically if everyone had a money tree and decided to go all out with their integras, i.e. boost, full race car, then people like the o.p. wouldnt have anything to complain about, im only saying this because the above comments are all consisting of built cars, or cars that should be built the way OTHER people want it.

other users cant appreciate that we are taking our time, posting what we get new for our cars, instead, the people that are posting new stuff, pictures, etc. are being directed as “same ol shit, nothing new, etc. etc.”

although i dont post everything that i get everytime, but i do understand why people DO post.

Online forums have became more a “Look what I have on my car, Don’t I look cool?” type thing. I seem to post at idiot threads now because it’s so annoying when people post the same things when you can search almost everything related to the DA here. I don’t post my car much either because it’s not cool to internet people and it looks stock when I’ve actually built my car up a lot. You don’t need to fabricate things to make things interesting. What would make it fun is people who actually build their car for a purpose other than internet stats of their car being the coolest.

I try to get people motivated and actually have fun with their car by going to the track and Auto Cross, but most people will always say, “My car is not ready” when in fact to them it’ll never be ready. I’m mad that I can’t get to any auto cross events and track events because I’m out in Santa Barbara for school and I don’t have the time I used to have to work on the car or the space.

Yes, the forum has gotten a little lame because people thinking a primered car is “unique” or putting on crappy suspension/brakes/tires and then want people to comment on it say you have a cool car!!! Bah. You want to build a car, build it with balance, many won’t get what building a car with “balance” means. This means don’t just build the motor for a 1000hp and still have stock brakes, using All-season tires, Stock shocks or tokico blues with no regard into putting what spring rates you need or want for a particular setup. If people brought more information to forums and more interesting things MAYBE it wouldn’t be so lame.

Break that “Look what I have on my car, Don’t I look cool?” type things and tranform the forum into a Build Log/Infos forum?

(Only want to have opinions)

build logs and things like that would be cool but most people have more things going on in their lives than just their car. Maybe a dedicated do-it-yourself section would get more legit diy articles together than just the teg tips on the main page. just a thought.

sorry dp

I build my car the way I want it.

-End of story

I just wanted to add something since I am pretty new to this site and I have not done very much to my car yet.

This site has been a great resource for me. I love the teg tips writeups and help I can get from old and new posts and other users. This is the second G2 I have owned and I am working on really making it a nice car, but fun, too.

I know my view on G2’s isnt the same as a lot of people. I like some of the simple JDM style things, but I cant stand slammed, useless cars, crazy off-camber wheels, or cars with JDM tow hitches. I just want a fun DD car that handles great when I need it to, and is nice to look at. Something I am proud of because I do most of the work and all of the research myself.

I know I am really late to the game as these cars are 20 years old now. I am not a 17year old ebay-ing out my car. I owned a Z31 300ZX turbo for 4 years and I loved that car. Treated it the same way I do my teg. Couldnt really do much with it like this car though because of how complicated and computer driven it was, but the fact remains.

The reason I like this site as opposed to the Z31 forums is the exact reason you guys are bitching about this one. Everyone now looking at those old cars, and in the local club I belonged to for it, is that they are all a bunch of fogeys tooling around with cars that are before a lot of people my age’s- times. (hope that makes sense). Here, there are still a lot of youthful-seeming people that are starting off with their cars and can share experiences with you. I like the fact that there are new and older/wiser people on this site. Those Z cars have an older, more established crowd that is harder to break into because you feel out of place. Dont turn this place into one like that.

I know this is kind of all over the place but I guess my point is that G2’s are basically an econobox at this point. A very upmarket econobox, and a good car in general, but at this point, in its age and the amount of them that are around, they are a common first car for many people. There is no reason to treat new people with the “same old shit” like losers because you were there once too. Stop being so elitest because there is no reason for it. Remember that douchbag post a few weeks ago with integras near the top? Stop trying to live up to it…

(and just for the record I do agree with some of what you guys are saying, it would be nice to see some more unique posts and not threads that have been running for 6 years. keep in mind though, that this car is 20 years old. Its probably not going to get much better than this at this point)
