Is it possible to get exhaust piping only?

I have an odd request that perhaps those more familiar with exhaust systems may be able to answer. I’m looking to replace my exhaust system, but I’m not interested in making the stock exhaust any louder. So I was curious if it was possible to purchase all the piping from some place, but use a stock-like (perhaps “flatter” to allow for ground clearance) muffler, in addition to an exhaust tip that I want.

So basically, I need all the piping, but without the muffler and tip. Any ideas where I can get such a product that won’t cost an arm and a leg from due to custom fabrication?

Kteller.com sells piping kits alone and they actually make one for our chassis. I believe the smallest piping they make is 2 1/4 inch diameter. Maybe they can do something for you if you were to call. They also have customer service via AIM. They have been pretty helpful for me in the past. You can always throw on a long resonator to quiet down the 2 1/4, if there is no other choice.

There are some vendors of mandrel bends on eBay, and some performance shops carry individual bends. The advantage of the KTeller kit is that it includes the S-bend section after the resonator, which you would otherwise need to piece together from two elbows and a straight section.

eBay exhaust with mandrel bends and a trip to the muffler shop bro.

I thought about that: Buying an eBay mandrel bent exhaust system for cheap and then cutting off the muffler and tip. But I’m concerned that the fitment will be horrible.

Check your local “muffler” shops, find one that has a mandrel and have them make the piping you need, I used a local shop, [Jerrys Carline] to make my custom SS piping and installed a 5Zigen muffler and resonator. 94

How much did that run? I figured a local shop would charge exorbitant amounts to custom fabricate something. :-/

Neil, I have actually been looking into the same thing recently (after someone backed out on selling me an RS*R) but in 2.5" and it looks like the KTeller kits are pretty decent. I hadn’t really found any direct talk about the fit on a DA except here, but I did find a few people talking about fitment on other forums and it seems pretty positive. But perhaps you were trying to find something in a cheaper price range ($185/$215 for aluminized/stainless)

I bought a KTeller kit for my DB1 about 4 years ago. Its fits fine, though like most exhaust, is hard to fit in certain places. Unless they have changed the bends, it will have rubbing issues as it passes the rear suspension. You have to play with it, twist it etc, but it will fit eventually. I spent a few hours tweaking it (no rebending, just adjusting the clamping, and whatnot) and got it perfect.

I chose to use a Magnaflow 2.25 muffler, a Magnaflow resonator and had to fab up a flange for the cat and exhaust manifold. Because I am in the south (North Texas) and we don’t salt our roads, I went with the mild steel option. It is still shiny. It does have a bit of a growl to it, and can get raspy at higher RPMs (its a b16 gen2 so 8600 is the redline). Other than a nice CAI, it is the best NA mod I had done to the car. the DB1 was lowered, and the resonator stuck down lower, I ended up welding a ramp to the fron of the resonator. The person that owns the car now, has already called me up and thanked me for this ramp. I put it on when I got hung up on a manhole doing ~15 mph, and separated a clamp while driving through a parking lot.

Here is a tubing kit. http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com/servlet/the-72/90-dsh-93-ACURA-INTEGRA-EXHAUST/Detail

I got the link somewhere off this site. I didn’t use it for my Integra but it did work out well on a buddy’s F150. The shop charged 1.5 hours labor to install along with a muffler he got separately.

Good Luck!

If you can weld or know someone who can I can get you all of the piping from Vibrant. Just a thought.
