Is it Time for a GSR registry?

I have been checking out some other automotive registries and I think the time has come to approach Neal/G2IC and see if we can get an authorised/official GSR registry started.

I am well aware there has been a bit of under the table work, interest completed on this by some current members, Shu, Redline9500, Cephoto……

There are lots of good features, documentation and ideas I think we could pull from many of the other current registries online.

I would be willing to innate getting it off the ground, however I likely will need some assistance anyone in?

Think it’s a good or bad idea to be part of G2IC or should it be a separate entity?

To be taken seriously in the automotive world and to maintain the value of our vehicles we clearly need to document our history.

Comments?

i’m down for it! Milano Red #576 here!!

Hello 8URV8,

Thanks for expressing some interest in the idea however at this point I really believe the first item is to get some feedback from Neil and the rest of the club before any information can be taken or compiled.

Do it up fellow Vancouverite!

Didn’t you or someone else propose this a few years ago ? I think we were stuck as to how to prove who owns what and what data should be listed – something along those lines

It actually boiled down to; if a db2 does not have the b17a1 still in it…then, is it still a db2? As far as I can remember, we had a list going that were several pages deep. No 2 4 ending digits in the vin #s were the same.I believe mine is #508. We even had a running list of serial numbers for the B17A1 engines.
I removed myself from the list due to not having the original B17a in my db2.
This was about 3 or 4 years ago, it was a popular thread.

I don’t have the B17A1 anymore but I do have a DB2, so I hope this gets going.

Im in the exact same situation.

Not true. Another member and I had the same last digits (his was a 92 and mine was a 93). The last digits, I believe, pertain to that year only.

Toohot, I must of missed that discussion, however, I stand corrected.
Mine is #508 of X amount made in 93.

what if you used to own one haha, I still got the number, that person I sold it to might not even be on here. but I’m looking for a clean close to stock one. anybody

I proposed this a few years ago after buying my third gsr. The gsr being such a statistical anomaly in the honda production numbers, the list itself would help maintain the value of these cars. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say, there are probably as many 92-93 gsr’s as there are '69 GTO’s. I can also imagine that the only thing needed to prove yourself for the list would be a couple of pictures(vin & block stamp). Those without the original b17a1 should just be put on another list IMHO. The idea came to me after seeing a thread @ honda tech for type R integras . I am just saying.

what’s the point of this?
