With the way our radio is positioned in our cars, is there any slide-out touch screen radio we can use? Or are we stuck with regular ones. There is little chance it will get stolen from my car because of the area I live in.
Any standard size double din radio should fit in the stock opening. Would you prefer to have the flip up kind or the fixed position kind? I personally like the fixed screen units better. There are a few Pioneers I would love to have but they’re expensive.
I want a flip-up, but I don’t know if it’s possible because it would hit the dashboard above it while trying to flip up. And I’m not too worried about cost. do you recommend a certain flip-up one?
I forgot the name of the company.
its a touch screen it has GPS Plays SD card Ipod plug built in tv plays dvds the only thing i dont like is the quality of the music
I love the blue tooth the phone rings the radio cuts off and i can answer the phone and talk throw the radio or play the music i have on the phone.
I do want better quality music i have been looking at this.
Use a double din, I am not sure if anybody is still making a flip-up with “extending tray”, [tray extends before screen flips up] to clear the dash.
Mounting a flip-up, [without extending tray] would mean having it stick out, ugly.
A double din can be mounted back a little so a “dummy face” [stealth cover] can be installed.
A stealth cover can be made with the face of a stock HU and the front of the stock pocket, once in place, [if done properly] over the recessed double din it will look like you have a stock HU. 94
I fitted a double din radio, a jvc kw-avx820 7" touch screen its a flat face but it tilts, dvd player cd changer compatible which i have also. i think the sound is good, usb port, lots of in puts and out put even for a second tv screen and the screen comes off leaving a black face.
looks something like daintegra’s radio!
if fitted properly you would have to remove the entire centre console before this radio can be robbed!
only a slight mod to the dash in order for the radio hight to fit but it makes it real snug! (slight as in 2-3mm)
hope this helps

Wow I will definitely keep both of these in mind when I take a trip down to the radio shop!
