YEah, so I think everything is a catch can lately, but I think that this one is some sort of one. It is at least part of the PCV system right?
Its the one with the yellow DOT…

It’s an EVAP (Evaporative Emission Control) canister. I believe it acts like an overflow of some sort for Emissions purposes.

In my old car its called a charcoal canister. Filled with charcoal? and has a small gauze filter down the bottom.
Used in the emissions system as The_Oz stated, to absorb gas fumes i think.
yep. get a haynes manual or download the helms for more interesting tidbits =P
Thanks for the replys!
I DLed the helms a while back I just needed to know what to call it.
Im gonna upgrade it and make it pull the fumes out faster!! ahahahahaha
yup, this is the EVAP catch can… it catches fuel fumes and send them back into the fuel tank I believe…
Could this be left unplugged? I think I have a problem with my EVAP system since a lot, and I really say a lot, of pressure is building inside my gas tank… If I remove the fuel cap after a ride, I’ll hear a loud suction noise… I can also hear it a little simply by putting my ear near the fuel cap(when the fuel cap is still in place). I don’t think it’s normal that such a high pressure builds up in the gas tank…
