Is This True Or False?

MY TRANNY WENT ON ME A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. I RECENTLY GOT A B16A TRANNY TO MATE WITH MY 90 LS MOTOR. ANYWAY I WENT TO GO PICK UP THE TRANNY AND THE GUY SAID TO ME
“WHAT KIND OF OIL ARE YOU GONNA USE?”. NATURALLY I SAID “GEAR OIL 80W OR WHATEVER THE SPEC IS”. HE TOLD ME I WAS WRONG AND THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO USE MOTOR OIL AS IN 10W-40. I WAS STUMPED FOR A MINUTE, THEN HE EXPLAINED THAT ALL HONDA TRANNYS ARE SUPPOSED TO USE MOTOR OIL INCLUDING THEIR MOTORCYCLES. HE SAID THAT GEAR OIL IS TOO THICK AND CAUSES THE GEARS TO GET RUINED. IS THIS TRUE OR
FALSE, HAVE ANY OF YOU GUYS HEARD THE SAME THING. THE
TRANNY IS COVERED SO I’M NOT TOO WORRIED BUT BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.

everyone says honda MTF is the best. Thats what I have and it did make a difference. My tranny would grind when going into to reverse without revving the engine. It no longer does that. So I recommend it.

yup, look in the manual and honda says to use normal motor oil (forget the exact weight). I used synthetic when i changed my tranny oil…not sure if syn. is a good thing to use though.

in my new motor i’ll be using honda mtf in the tranny.

honda brand.

HONDA MTF

AND STOP SHOUTING, I’M RIGHT BESIDE YOU

Yeah you can use either 10w-30 or 10w-40…but everyone saids to use Honda MTF and I have heard only good things about it. I am goin to give the Honda MTF a try this weekend.

Ken

Honda makes MTF for a reason, should I say more??
