It’s a New year so time for some new stuff.
I was thinking a roof fin/ vortex generator would look good on the DA’s and DB1, so I figured I would make one if there was enough interest
I would like 8 people per model to make this.
so we will see how it goes.

and please don’t turn this into a “that does nothing unless you have a full race 1000+ mph all carbon race car for any real effect” thread
I probably have forgotten more about car aerodynamics than most people will ever learn. I know how these things work, and I know this will be mainly a cosmetic upgrade so keep the thread on topic.
here is a picture for reference. the ones I will make will be essentially the same.
they will be double sided taped to the roof, and made out of pure carbon or kevlar.
I think the price will be $150 plus shipping, if there is enough interest
It looks good and I respect your work but it looks like a string of semi truck lights in the same area that they would have them.
I would like to see a rear lip for 92-93 bumpers along with maybe a diffuser that works with it if you wanted. I know where the exhaust sits though it won’t be easy lol.
There is enough cosmetic trash for are cars already aren’t you tired of making junk.
Another vote for a diffuser that is functional as opposed to cosmetic please!
WOW!
now I make junk?
Actually the diffuser is more of a cosmetic piece. for a diffuser to work you need a front diffuser, and smooth under tray covering the entire bottom of the car. Plus the car can’t be over about 2" of ground clearance before a rear diffuser actually starts to take effect.
so actually having a top piece such as a vortex generator that prevents separation of air after the rear dives away from it actually is helpful. Especially if you have a rear wing.
So it is you that is pushing “junk” pieces to be made.

Yea, we all drive on the street at what speed and distance for your vortex generators to be practical.
I suggest you go back to school on your aerodynamics, your statements are seriously lacking accuracy.
My statement stands, everything I have seen you present and produce for our cars is cosmetic “junk”.
I feel I need to comment on this thread, not in order to bash, but in order to inform.
I purchased a carbon roof cap from this retailer/manufacturer and was quite unhappy with the quality. Maybe his production has changed since the roof caps were produced, I cannot comment on that. The cap I received (as well as the cap a friend received) was lower quality than the run of the mill cf hoods available. The weave was inconsistent and the clear had multiple flaws (small bubbles or debris or something in multiple areas).
For many of you this quality may be just fine, for me it is not. I bought my cap out of impulse at the time and originally was thinking of painting it to match the car anyway or possibly not caring since it’s just a track car which doesn’t need to look perfect. I’m still not sure if I’ll end up using it or not.

I am sorry but this is just BS.
I remember you, I sent you 2 caps that I gave you the deal of the century on and I never heard from you again. if you were unhappy with it you should have contacted me over a year ago when you received them.
Instead you wait over a year and then come here and talk negatively about the stuff I made, and never even talk to me about it.
You never have anything good to say about anything, I remember you from way back when the group buy was starting for the roof caps. Nothing positive or constructive, just BS internet cowardly comments.
My background is actually in structural composites, in fact I have a masters degree in them.
this is the type of work that comes out of my shop, real structural composites, like carbon wind turbine blades
isport does have a point…if the caps were bad i guess show pics and deal it with him instead of messing up his thread…and also sure rear diffusers would be cooler…but since someone stated that you arent going fast enough for the air vortex…thing then why do you want a rear diffuser then that becomes a cosmetic item as well…almost all cars that I have seen that have functional rear diffusers have a front splitter, a undercarraige cover (to reduce drag) and a rear diffuser so the car is cutting the air as fast as possible without creating drag hence very slippery…thas my opinion
I didn’t mention it at the time because the price was OK for the quality, not great, but OK. It wasn’t worth my time since I had planned on painting it anyway. Plus, I knew there was no way it would be worth trying to return considering shipping costs. I would have lost out on shipping in both directions had I wished to return it. Again, not worth it, I would probably have been better off trying to sell it to someone else locally if it came to that.
That piece you just linked too looks awesome in the photo, the piece I got does not look awesome up close and in person. The quality is what it is, it’s just fine for probably 90% of the people on here. But the quality of my piece is not anything I’d put on a show car or anything being built by a perfectionist. You can even see in a photo of PlatinumG2’s car that the weave is inconsistent (slight wave to it).
Again, I am not asking for a refund, not saying I got ripped off, not saying your customer service was bad or anything of that sort, just making a comment in regard to the quality of the pieces we received. My decision to keep the piece or ask for a replacement, or attempt a return, or lack thereof is irrelevant, I am speaking only to the quality. The pieces we received were not top of the line, there were flaws in both of them.
Make all the insults about my posts you’d like as I feel my posts and reputation among others here speak for themselves and I feel no need to argue about it.
im not defending nor offending here, just an observation.
so Mitsubishi used these on the Evo MR because they just looked cool?
sorry, but on racing homologations, nothing is added for cosmetic purposes, that would just drive the price up of an already expensive vehicle.
the 22B STi not only had wider fenders to accommodate huge tires and a wider track, but to make it legal to use that width fender in WRC and other smaller rally sanctions.
im not saying these would be effective on under-powered light weight FWD cars like ours, just saying that it may not be a bad idea for some of the faster cars.
i cannot speak on the quality of said products, just simply trying to shed light on the topic of the functionality of said products.
anyhow, if your products are good theyll speak for themselves. Colin do you have pics of these blemishes? im sure if this guys stuff was garbage he wouldnt be doing it for a living as he says.
just a few thoughts for potential consumers. good luck with your venture.
