I didn’t use either of those shitass kits and I think mine came out pretty damn good. I’ll post up some pics tommorrow when I have the beast in the air for an oil change…
Also sounds like you found my thread I posted nearly a year ago about this…
I just did a 5min search and came up with a site that explains what the Beaks and BSQ kits do. Another seach and you’ll learn what the differences are between DA and DC chassis. Add all that information together and you’ll know what needs to be done to install the ITR bar.
The bolt going through the top of the D-bracket goes all the way to the other side of the subframe. There, it is reinforced with a washer and a 3/8" steel plate to prevent tear out. The bottom is reinforced with some washers and it mounts just to the inside of the subframe. I did have to grind some sort of welded nut (perhaps for the ABS line?) that was inside the frame to get the lower bolt in.
The numerous plates spacing the D-brackets away from the subframe were necessary to keep the appropriate angle on the endlinks (approx 90*, like stock). The stock endlinks work fine, but heim joints are in the near future and are always a better choice.
It was the pics of your setup that inspired me to do this. I just took the ball and ran with it. the only thing I could see being better than the setup I have now would be billet aluminum spacers…
