JDM B16 Trans swap

Hey guys, I know the differences between the input shaft splines but the thing I’m wondering about was if I already have the clutch and flywheel that was already on the JDM B16 w/LSD would I be able to mate it to my 92 B18A1? I dont have the transmission code as the sticker fell of years ago but I do remember it was a JDM B16 trans. My only issue is that I have no clue if they will mate or not.

JDM b-series trans will require a '90-91 Integra clutch disc. The flywheel/throwout bearing and (i believe) pressure plate will swap over from any '90-01 Integra.

The transmission will bolt directly to the motor.

depends on the year of the JDM cable b16 if its from 89-91 then it will be the small spline if its a 92 it will be the large spline from all 92-01 B-series.

Also the only diffrence between the two is clutch disk, you can mismatch the pressure plate and flywheel. However the throwout bearing needs to be from a 90-93 integra.

I was under the impression that every JDM b-series took the same clutch disc. Hm.

So essentially as long as I use the clutch it already has then it will bolt up? But I will need to use the throwout bearing from my LS tranny?

Yes, the clutch that was originally mated to that trans will work. Throwout bearing from either trans will work - they are the same.

If you’re in doubt of what clutch you need, just take the measurements. Smaller diameter shaft = 90-91 clutch ::: Larger diameter shaft = 92-93 clutch

I still have a unused clutch for that transmission, so the clutch isnt an issue. But happy to hear that I wont have an issue swapping it over

just the answer I needed. I have the the small spline but will be swaping to the big spline from a 93. Do you guy still recommend Honda mtf? where the step by step to swap transmission.

Use Honda mtf and I always blend half a quart of lukas gear oil, makes is shift like new. Don’t get the synthetic auto trans stuff, your more likely to leak.
