JDM Bumper Support Mounts?

Quick Question. Do you need different mounts to attach a bumper with a jdm bumper support installed. Mounts as in the Metal boxes behind the bumper that hold the bolts. Thanks a ton folks. P.S. I installed mine, but i was recently in a wreck and have some minor frame damage on the corner and Im wondering if it’s just me or if the bumper is supposed to sit three inches away from the headlights. Pretty sure its not me. :weak:

No, you just use your USDM mounts. The only thing that you have to watch out for is the differences between the 90-91 and 92-93 mounts. I believe that those differences are mostly related to bolt locations and not the actual size of the mounts so that shouldn’t cause your bumper to stick out, but I could be wrong on that one.

unless I may have had a 90-91 sent to me? Anyone got pictures? I know the bolt location is different. Do you use your stock foam?

You should be able to use your stock foam. I left mine out though. I’m sure there are pictures on the web somewhere. I think battlecat had it on his website, but I’m not even sure if that’s around anymore. Anyone have a link? Also, most of the JDM bumper supports that I’ve seen have been 90-91 style, so the chances that you have one of those is pretty high.

After a quick search… http://www.kurisukurusu.com/carstuff/jdmsupportda/index.html
It looks like the 92-93 mounts are bigger and would cause the bumper to stick out. Time to get some 90-91 mounts.
