if the jdm da6 1pc headlights comes with dc2 integ clear lens cover,
do u guys think the headlights will look better?
um, what?!
i think hes asking if the 1 pieces would look better with a clear lens. if thats the case no. they look like shit with a clear lens and they need those lines in the original lens to work properly.
yupe… da6 integ with clear lens. thats what i meant.

And if you want clear lenses, why not buy the Ebay one piece headlights? :read: :read: :read:
I remember coming across a thread with someone doing that…can’t remember if it was here or on TI, but he pretty much sanded down the lines and made the lens clear. I think he did that so that his retrofitted HID projectors had a direct beam and not have it spray everywhere from those lines.
IMHO, it didn’t look so hot.
not a big fan of it…
it needs some sort of trim inside the headlights to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
hey, that’s my picture, hey, that’s my old light… hahaha
yea, it was a test fit. OE jdm headlight housing, retrofit projector, with ebay clear headlight lense…
it worked though… the projector’s light came out fine through it… vs. the original lense…
any pics of it on da car???
not of mine… sorry
dont mess up good 1 pieces putting those projectors in there just put them on and look nice

Tegboi - did the ebay lens fit the OE JDM housing perfectly or did you have to mod it?
Dude are you smoking crack? Have you seen projectors in the 1 pieces… the output is so much much brighter than stock if done right… it’s not there to look nice… it’s for function.
no mod, fit fine…
and dont get the idea that you can go get any ebay projector light and put it in any clear lensed headlight, and expect it to be supppppper bright or anything. you will need a quality HID setup, & quality projector lense.
OEM S2000 projectors are one of the best ones out there, along with some BMW ones…
HID setups with D2R bulbs are widely used with many projector setups…
you mean d2s… d2r is for reflector HIDs like the 2nd gen TLs
?
im using a D2R ballast & bulb from an '04 maxima, is a non projector type setup in a projector housing & all from a '04 Audi S4 and still have a clean clean cutoff…

Yeah I know… I already have some Infiniti FX projectors retrofitted in the JDM 1 pieces and was about to sand down the flute until I saw your ebay lens swap… so was thinking about it…
So just take off and swap lenses huh? Easy as that? No mods whatsoever?

oh im not saying that it wont work… you can use whatever ballast you wish as long as its either for d2s or d2r… etc whatever has a P32-d connector
theres just minor differences between a d2s and d2r bulb.
mainly theres a notch on the base that you would have to file down on a d2r to go into a projector housing and theres a ceramic mask or paint thats on 2 sides of the bulb.

i use to have a picture of the notch locations but i dont have one right now.
page bookmarked - some good info there…
yea, i had a D2S at first, but light wasnt so great, cutoff wasnt so nice… so i threw in a D2R, and now the cutoff is so much better, and cleaner…
i now see why because of the painted areas of “unpredictable light”
