I’m gettin my set of jdm heads pretty soon here. I’m not sure how much yellow is on them yet though. I have read all of the posts about refinishing them with the sand paper and rubbing compounds. If you read my post about refinishing my taillights, I’m gonna try that on the headlights. It is a liquid glass cleaner that I bought at Fred Meyer (Kroger company). As soon as I get them done, or at least attempt, I will let you know. Just curious, do any of the jdm headlights have problem with yellow on the inside? If so how can u get rid of it?

Idk about yellowing on the inside, but if there were yellowing on the inside, you would need to use a heat gun to pry apart the headlighs and do the same thing you are doing to the outside.
It wouldn’t be fun
If you like to detail your car (or want to start) I’d hit up this site:

Scroll down… . . .
They’ve also got a headlight leanse restoration guide if perchance the way you’re going to do it doesn’t yeild the desired effect
Arent JDM headlights plastic?
Mine are.
I used this optic lens car polish on it from Wal-Mart. (AutoZone too $3.00 more though)
Yea there plastic.
I did the wet sanding method and compounds to mine… It looks… Alright, Its better then they were… But i need to re-do them since i can see more yellow from natural lighting then i did in doors.
i did mine once, and it took me a couple of hours, but they look really good. from time to time after a wash, i use the plastic cleaner on them, and good as new again.
Just make sure you seal them tight, you won’t have any problems with yellowing inside
But dans refinishing tip is all you pretty much need, i mean if you’ve seen G2guru’s car you’ll know what im talking about, good luck
Alright, so yesterday I decided to give them one last cleaning inside. I earlier used the castrol super clean and it worked really well but there was still some water spots. So I spray it in and some gets on the silver part in the headlight. Yeah, it let some nice black spots in there. So needless to say I mucked them up. So if anyone has a drivers side jdm headlight just sitting around I really only need the inside chrome part. It don’t matter what the lens looks like. Like always, I try to make something better and mess it up worse!!!
