Hey guys im tryin to figure out if its worth it to ditch the itr header for a toda rep…is it worth it or will it pull the same amount of power as the itr header.?
The Toda replica is going to be a better header - but of course there are always differences because of the exact engine you have. There is no such thing as the “best header” because what works great on one motor might work so-so on another. Whether it’s worth it from a cost standpoint is completely subjective. Personally I think it’s definitely worth it since it’ll almost certainly provide more power, looks a lot better, and it’s significantly lighter. Win. Win. Win. The only benefits I see to the ITR is that it can pass for a stock header if you need to keep things on the DL, and that it’s about half the cost of the Toda rep.
I’ve never seen a dyno comparison between the two, but you might find some good info on Honda-Tech - there are a handful of “header shootout” type threads. Generally from what I’ve read the Toda replica is going to be your best bang for the buck header that still has good ground clearance. The ITR 4-1 replicas are also very good but have really bad ground clearance on our cars. The Skunk2 Alpha is also a really nice option with pretty good ground clearance but the dyno’s results I’ve seen show the Toda to be silghtly better, although the Skunk2 is nicer in regard to build quality.
I currently have the PLM TA (Toda rep) on my car. No complaints what-so-ever.
Collin ur the man! Thanks, i can get the toda replica for 350. I think im going to
Jump on it, do you have any pics of the header and clearance? You running it on a b18cr?
You always want to get a better header when possible. Gaines are debatable on the set you have and exhaust system, pipe size vs flow and back pressure. Cams, throttle body, pistons comp, bore, displacement.
I have hytech rep on my bone stock 91 ls engine that I took from the wrecking yard with low miles from a automatic db, not even a intake. I still had these headers before my car was stolen, never really made time to install them. I slapped them on and they feel great from low to top end. I do have a 2.25 custom exhaust for now until I pay my fix it ticket.

I don’t have any pics of the clearance, but there are a bunch online. Check out those header comparison threads, there’s lots of good info with dyno numbers and pics of clearance. Yes, I’m using it on my b18c-r currently, before that it was on my b17a. I’m actually going to be removing it this weekend and shipping it to Jet Hot to get coated.
Nice, thanks for your help guys
