jdm motors

someone was trying to tell me that the motors from japan dont last as long. that they build their motors to only last like 30-40k and then just replace them. didnt sound right to me, but does anyone know if this has any truth. and if so some details…

Why would Japan make better stuff for the US than for their own country? Anyway, ever wonder why JDM swaps have between 30 and 40k miles on them. After a car is a certain age in Japan the taxes on owning it goes up, after 4 or 5 years it’s usually cheaper to just buy a new car and that’s what most people do. Then the car is usually taken apart and sold in pieces and that’s why there are so many engine swaps and other JDM parts being sold in the US.

see now that makes sense. but when this person was trying to tell me that they make them to not last as long, i had nothing to fight back with. even tho i knew it couldnt be true!:stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: thanks alot whitey
