jdmjunkie - didnt want this to happen

Okay bro thank you for clearing that up. he did get insurance he made that clear when he said i dont know why your making a big deal i got insurance go file a claim and call it a day. however about being a broke ass joke that he is… he complained about phone being turned off or no ride. well im pretty sure that 300 he got wouldve fixed both problems. eithr a taxi or the bus to ship items but it of course got prolonged even more. so yeah hes a broke joke but he was at least smart enough to get shipping insurance

The pics posted in jdmjunkies ad was of a set of mint looking headlights. He clearly stated he’s had 2 sets who’s to say this wasn’t the second set that he didn’t want. I’d definitely file the claim for the insurance. I’m not bashing at all but from what was posted, sent/received, and said its just kinda odd. I personally wouldn’t have even sold those or even claimed them to be mint. GAmedic I hope all prevails well for you. Keep us posted.
wow this thread is too funny!! Everyone’s being all “gun-hoe” and bashing the crap out of the seller, with only mere speculations and assumptions (except for the OP and the seller of course). I’m not vouching for either party, but some of the people in this thread are going a little too far such as the member above me^^^ (fyi if you read the thread, you would know that the seller did have insurance, so you can keep the negativity to yourself).

I give kudos for the OP to wait that long, but unfortunately the condition of the item was not to your expectations; that I understand. But on the bright side, you didn’t get entirely scammed as the seller did finally come through and did send them out eventually so that’s a plus. He even admitted that he was wrong for having it shipped so late and giving you the run-about which is a big rarity nowadays. However, judging how the corner piece broke, I really think it most likely broke during shipping; usually that part is the easiest part to break in general (Note that I’m speculating as well lol). I’m not defending the seller by any means, but just providing my own experience from the past as, I had the same exact situation occur to me before with that corner piece. And if what the seller says is true, you can file a claim with UPS, so you have another opportunity to get your money back and then buy a better set; that’s what I did. You live, you learn and move on, no reason to continue to bash the seller since the transaction is done, and the only thing that can come out of it is more negativity, which this forum isn’t about.

Another thing to note for future business on the buyer’s behalf is to ask for more detailed pictures, it doesn’t hurt to see more pictures of the items you’re buying to give you assurance and the satisfaction that the product is as described, and most likely seller will have no problem to send them to you unless he/she is lazy, or have something to hide, then it’s questionable and you should proceed with caution. Never go by what the seller lists the condition as, as a buyer, you always have to be careful when dealing online as people are faceless and usually tend to live hundreds of miles away so the chance of perception is extremely high as opposed to in person transaction; another thing to also take note that the state of condition of an item is a subjective standpoint, so what one thing may be considered “mint” to one person, may be a “good” condition to another. That’s why you again should request for more pictures of the item your buying for reassurance. Also in regards to shipping, especially something very delicate and fragile like the one-pieces, you should always take the initiative to indicate to the seller to package them properly; many sellers (that I conducted with in the past) don’t care how they package the items, their mentality is just to get a box and put it in and call it a day. Hence you should be advised in future transactions to prevent stuff from breaking during shipping, perhaps by offering to pay alittle more for supplies to package the parts properly (popcorns, cushions, and etc.) as these things are not free and from a seller’s point of view, if they provided these items all the time, the would be loosing profit. So buyers need to take the initiative to insure that their products are going to arrive safely as you aren’t buying from a company who would gladly replace a product if damaged, but from a private seller who’s selling a ~20 years old discontinued headlight from Japan, who can’t readily replace a damaged part.

SO what I’m trying to say at the end of the day, the blame is not solely on the seller, but also on the buyer to assume what everything the seller advertised as true and not taking the initiative to ensure the packaging of their items. As a consumer for online transactions buying second-hand parts, you must always be cautious when proceeding regardless, due to the high possibility of deception.

You can welcome my advice/criticism or simply ignore it or flame me; I don’t care what you do with it. I’m only trying to help the community out to prevent this from happening again. If can’t see the helpfulness of this post, then don’t come crying back when “you get something not as described” or “my item broke during shipping” because i will gladly copy and paste this post into your thread.

Goodluck OP!
^^^Agree with that 100%. Also agree with the mint perception thing, I consider them mint but others did not. My perception not yours.

Never said I did not care, I did care a lot, and I’m pissed to all hell that the headlights broke in shipping and they aren’'t even mine anymore.

Tried using that money to fix my car, and no luck. You think I enjoy not having my car running? I’m now so fed up with it that I’m saving up for a new swap cause I’m sick and tired of messing with it to only have it be another thing or still not start.

The headlights GAmedic has ARE THE EXACT SAME HEADLIGHTS and I can prove it.

Here’s my for sale thread to my first set a little over a year ago…

That set sold to CB7_PHX, a guy off my old forum in AZ and he said he wouldn’t mind doing business with me again.

Now here’s the set that I sold to GAmedic and the set he has now…

http://forums.g2ic.com/showthread.php?214634-VA-JDM-Stanley-DA-1-piece-headlights-*MINT*

2 completely different sets. Also can prove they are the same lights as advertised and the same lights that GAmedic has.

in this pic you can clearly see blue overspray on them in the top left corner of the pic and in the middle below where it says stanley japan
and in this pic you can see the blue overspray on them in the top left corner of this pic

Now if GAmedic(Robert) looks at the headlights, they will have that blue overspray that he talked about them having in those exact spots.

I bought these headlights from a member on here with the screen name “lsjdmteg”, I bought them from him for $300 shipped and waited about 3 weeks to get them. They had blue overspray ALL OVER them, had to clean the hell out of them to get it off and clean in the areas where you would notice it when mounted on a car, got them clean enough that everyone loved how they looked.

Im still finding more things wrong with them so I am writing these off as a loss. Would have never paid close to what I did if I had known half of this.

Let this be a rule of thumb for people: ask for very detailed pics of them and make sure everything that Honda put on them is there.

A loss? Did you or did you not get insurance? Regardless of how the damage happened. File a claim if you haven’t already. Isn’t the whole point of insurance is to be protected in this situation? Not saying dude didn’t pull a fast one, but this has been dragging on for hella since you’ve gotten them. File a claim, get your money back, and make sure nobody buys from him again. Take it as a lesson learned and a problem solved… Ya know? And kudos for being that calm for such a long time… I couldn’t do it.

The problem I see with filing a claim on the insurance is the condition of the box. If the box is in good shape (and from the pics it is) then the damage is from half ass packing. I highly doubt they would pay out for something that isnt their fault. If it was me i would make sure and take extra care in packing something that expensive.

I wouldn’t know really. Never dealt with it, so haven’t “read the fine print” so to speak… But insured is insured regardless. It should be based on the insured item not the box… Or else people would be paying for box insurance lol. Is it not still worth the effort rather than take it as a loss?

theyll cover it but theyll want the parts and may take awhile. i sold some je pistons and eagle rods. they got damaged during transit. i refunded the buyer and filed a claim. i got the money but it took close to six months

Im just gonna run with what I have and leave it be. I will definitely be buying another set. I have to go to a junkyard and source a bulb retaining clip since one of these is missing one. I am just tired of having the headache associated with buying these. I could be a dick and request a refund but we all know how that will go.

Better than nothing. I’d rather wait 6 months for money than let a broken set of one pieces collect dust. What a headache this all turned out to be. Scares me, been trying to find a set myself.

I’m going to use this set for now. Just have to source a few things first.

I think members should be on g2ic at least 6 months and be active to sell parts. I’ve notice a lot of new names just posting in the for sale section as soon as they join but do not post anywhere else

Yeah I think the for sale rules could use a few slight revisions.

What does the retaining clip look like I may have one

Only way well get Neil to see the new rules in the for sale thread is if we make a new thread and vote on it.

So lets make a thread an vote on it.

Oh and by the way to whoever said something about being on the site for a certain time until you can do classifieds, well I’ve been on the site on this account since June 1, 2011, had another account but forgot the password and email I used for it, but I’ve been active on this site since high school, so about 5 1/2 years.

I’ve loved this site a lot and yall are always willing to help out no matter what the issue and I appreciate that, if yall wanna revoke my selling privileges then fine so be it, but please don’t ban me, I love this site too much and all the teg tips and help is very much appreciated.

This is one of the forums I’ve actually like A LOT cause yall don’t talk shit on here to eachother, instead you actually help like the community should be. I swear I’m not a bad guy, and you would learn that if you ever got the chance to get to know me, I just fucked up on this sale was all, but think and believe what you want, in the end it’s up to yall.

I gotta say that both parties involved acted very maturely; just the bystanders kept the flaming and negativity going, but whatever- what’s done and said is finished.

At least you guys didn’t reply like this guy in this thread from another forum lol :
http://zilvia.net/f/private-sellers/496131-eric-climo-pa-liar-thief-avoid-doing-business.html

it’s even worse in the evo forum, but too me it’s sooo entertaining.

yeah agree, there’s another forum that i go to http://www.jdmstyletuning.com/ they have a rule in the forum where you have to post at least a fair amount of post until you can post in the classifieds, i hope this guy gets banned for lying about the condition and making GAmedic wait for too godamn long and for being the dumb ass he is.
also hope you got the insurance and get at least some money if not all the money back, goodluck bro

Could possibly use a retaining clip from an H4 housing but not sure. Thats the closest thing I can think of.

I vote for a ban but then again I am not a mod. Im just a nobody that got fucked on this deal.

Email me a pic of it. Smitley7@Gmail.com I have 2 from my old eg if they h4 will work there yours.
