My car is a 92 GS with a B16A swapped into it and I just had an e-test run on it (I live in Ontario, Canada) and yes my car was completely warmed up before the test was done. before they did the test they said i needed a new gas cap because the one i had failed the pressure test so the new one was on when they ran the test.
here are the results:

So after failing the emissions test horribly i took the results sheet to my mechanic and he said its gotta be, cataylitc convertor, o2 sensor, or EGR valve. I told him i just put the following new parts in 2 weeks ago.
spark plugs
spark plug wires
o2 sensor
PCV valve
also just did a valve adjustment last night, intake .006, exhaust .007
so he said it must be the cataylic convertor then so i’m taking it in first thing tomorrow morning and he’s going to put a new one on for me and get it re-tested for $175 CDN. the thing is, he also said after seeing the results that its running lean to the point of misfire… now i have never noticed it misfire, i’m new to the car scene but i haven’t noticed anything weird happening, other than that i dont’ know what to say.
the even weirder part is that my plugs have been coming out carbon fouled, and i have been chasing this running rich problem for awhile now, which is the reason i bought some of those new parts. i don’t understand why my mechanic would be saying its running lean to the point of misfire and my plugs are carbon fouled telling me its running rich… also my engine doesn’t burn any oil or coolant, thankfully. because i’m really worried about some sort of internal engine damage now, based on these results being this far off, and that he said it was running lean to the point of misfire…
i have also been chasing a vacuum leak of some sort around for a very long time, i have cleaned my IACV and FITV multiple times, and just yesterday i put on gasket maker on both of them to ensure they’re not leaking air and they’re still clean so they should be good. i have tried spraying throttle body cleaner around my engine bay while its idling in an attempt to find a vacuum leak but still no luck. my idle does whatever it wants… it’ll sit at 900 or 1000 or 1100, sometimes it will go to 750 like its supposed to, some times it will dip below 750 and act like its going to die then jump all the way up to 2100 and come back down to 1100… make it’s way back up to 1500 and then settle around 1100 again. other times it will hunt constantly from 1100 to 1400 and won’t stop no matter what i do, and it doesn’t matter whether my foot is on the brakes or not.
one other thing, my paper says it was run through as a 92 acura integra with a 1.8 L engine. i already complained to them a lot about that and tried to get them to re-do it while setting it to the correct engine thats actually in my car and they said it doesn’t matter because if anything the computer being set to the 1.8 L would have helped me pass not hindered it… and yeah i told the guy it wasn’t the stock engine before he did it and i told him what it was and he said it wouldn’t matter… he was a big piece of shit that guy…
anyways if you need more info to help me out just ask i’ll post asap because i need to get this sorted out asap because its all due by may 29th…
